Default TV Shows You Thought Had Similar Sets (Layouts)

Hanging With Mr. Cooper and Just The Ten Of Us I thought had similar set layouts. The front doors were in the same place and the kitchens looked similar.

The Hogan Family and Step By Step had similar living rooms.

I always thought the Family Matters and Step By Step houses looked similar.

I believe According to Jim used the same living room as Boy Meets World, but switched around the placement of the staircase and front door.

Good Times and One Day At A Time were laid out almost identically.

The Stu Erwin Show and Beulah (2nd season) were more than similar, they very obviously used the same set with a couple of walls swapped around.

Hey, now that I think about it, you are right about Good times and One Day. They do look similar.

Hazel and Gidget used the same set, with the stairway and den switched around.

What's Happening!! and Sanford and Son. Had similar house layouts albeit one of them has no junk in it.

Family Matters and The Hogan Family. I thought the layout of their kitchens was the same, albeit with different wallpaper colors.

Didn't Hangin' with Mr. Cooper use Growing Pains' set? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think I remember some bit with Alan Thicke in the Hangin with Mr. Cooper series premier? I was like 6 when the show premiered, so I may have this wrong!!

Many of the TGIF shows had similar floor plans. One aspect that stands out to me is that Full House, Family Matters, Boy Meets World, Step by Step, Sister, Sister, and probably more that I'm forgetting all had both a front staircase as well as a back staircase that almost always opened into the kitchen. I'd be interested to know the thinking behind this set design.

You are so right, now that I think about it. I think Hangin' with Mr. Cooper also had a front and kitchen staircase and was a TGIF show. Sabrina the Teenage Witch as well, if I'm not mistaken.

Some critic once said that One Dat at a Time was Good Times with white people.

The kitchen (and maybe the entire set) of The Golden Girls was used for a show that flopped, but the producer/head honcho (Susan somebody?) loved the set and saved it for another show, which was The Golden Girls.

I've always wanted to see One Day at a Time. It's just never run in syndication where I could catch it.

The set used on the short-lived 704 Hauser Street is really the same house used on All in the Family.
