I just learned that through CGI the studios can insert an exact composite of an Actress/Actor who has long since passed away, modernize there hair and clothing and and even make them say what they want them to say using their actual voice. And can also make them intermix with one of todays movie stars so that it would look real. So if they wanted, for example, to make a new movie for 2013 with Elvis Presley in it, they could do it and make it look like he really acted in the movie. But would this be illegal? And if not, or say they could get permission from the family of Elvis, would it be immoral to do it?
I know they have done similar CGI on TV shows as a test, I believe. Like Star Trek DS9 when they did an episode on the original Enterprise for the 1966 series, but the new actors had to keep in compliance with what was already in the scenes for the story line. |

This made me think of the Steve Martin movie "Dead men Don't Wear Plaid".
Almost anything if done with love, care and respect should be a good thing.

Forrest Gump immediately came to mind with JFK, Lyndon Johnson, etc. inserted. It was cool. I don't think it's wrong if done tastefully and not exploitive.

I dunno...I think some films that are colorized should be illegal!
