The more Hazel I watch, the more the character of Charlie Parkins grows on me. He was always looking for a handout, but he was very likeable. Was he the relative George told off so soundly he had to apologise for it? Sometimes George lost his temper so badly, it was almost too much...Like when Hazel was concerned about George's schedule since Dorothy was gone, and she rearranged his day, doing her usual manipulations, and G. blew his top and made her cry. He was truly beastly...

Yes, one thing I like about the Hazel show is that they always brought back family and friend characters to various episodes throughout the run of the series. Meaning, they didn't just mention or feature a relative or friend in one show and then forget about that character. They brought that character back for one or more subsequent shows, which provided good continuity to me.

Though she was only on once, I really liked Diane Ladd as the obnoxious, lazy cousin of George's. It was great how she really got on Hazel's nerves--Shirley Booth didn't get to play "irritated" all that often (she also did it well in "Dorothy's New Client") and Hazel finally outsmarted her.
