Does anyone know anything about Micheal J Fox's new nbc show? I understand its based on his life & his optimistic outlook. I'm really hoping it will return to prime-time a significant degree of 1980's values and humility that today's tv show desperately need.
Thanks!

I'm sorry I don't know too much about it except that I think it will be premiering next season. I am so excited about his return to sitcoms!! I LOVE Michael J. Fox!!!

MJF imo embodies the optimism, humility, and innocence of the late 80's which made all those shows great. FT's, Alf, GP's, Diff Strokes, etc., etc..

the below is all I can find re: MJF's new series:
Michael J Fox is to star in a new comedy series more than a decade after he scaled back his TV work to focus on fighting Parkinson's disease. The series, based loosely on his personal life, is set to premiere on NBC in the US in autumn 2013, the network announced. The single-camera comedy, thus far untitled, will feature 51-year-old Fox as a husband and father of three from New York who is juggling family, career and challenges that include Parkinson's. NBC has signed up for 22 episodes. "To bring Michael J Fox back to NBC is a supreme honour, and we are thrilled that one of the great comedic television stars is coming home again," said Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment. He called Fox "utterly relatable, optimistic and in a class by himself". |

I guess little by lilttle, more details about the show will be revealed. It would be great if some of his Family Ties co-stars guest starred!! |

Right now the series is in very early stages of development so not much is known. I can tell you that NBC was so excited about this one they by-passed the "Pilot" stage all-together and ordered it right to series.

Oddly enough, Family Ties also was allowed to begin production w/out a pilot ep. also.
Also, if your able & a true fan of Family Ties/MJF its easy to make a supportive donation like I did (see below). I think the fact MJF has the courage to go back to work on a full-time TV production says alot about the man. < Thats a 14+hr/day job & despite the fact he'll no doubt make some money doing it its, for him I'm sure, not all about the money. Thank you for your donation. You will receive your receipt by email shortly, in the meantime this is official confirmation of your support of The Michael J. Fox Foundation and should be printed for your records. Find out more about where your money goes and what progress we´ve made in our support of Parkinson´s research. Your generosity is appreciated! But there is still more work to be done. Find out other ways to get involved. For more information: Email: Info@MJFF.org Phone: 800.212.1212 |
