Default My Mom's bashing of this show today made me like it even more!! LOL

All of the things below is what she said and hated the fact that I compared it to the Cosby Show

1. The mother is a fat slob who always looks dirty

2. The mother has a dirty looking house

3. The mother doesn't do any house work

4. The father is fat and goofy

5. The son belongs in special classes

6. The daughters look dirty and have no respect

7. The sister Jackie is a NUT and can't keep a man

8. The mother talks to her kids any type of way

9. The Parents never tried to make themselves look presentable

10. It was just a trashy and dirty show

After all of those comments..............I now want the DVD"S

LOL....all of the things your mom said about the show are very TRUE! That's part of the show's charm!

Let's not forget The Lobo Lounge where everyone got drunk or played pool, then there's Dan's poker buddies...more sophisticated, classy folks!

I think the Cosby Show is why this show was so trashy. I think someone studied the Huxtables and Roseanne did everything on her show the complete opposite

When I was younger, my mom wouldn't let me watch this show because of those very same reasons. She hated the show. I discovered it as an adult.

That's funny! What's even funnier is that when I was a kid, my parents forbid me to watch Three's Company! They thought there was too much sexual innuendo! I suppose for the 1970s, the show was considered edgy!

I can see that during the time. Since it was new and had 2 sexy girls on the show living with a straight guy. I can see people at the time tuned in every week because of not knowing what to expect next

Kind of like how I am now with the show APT23 on ABC. I keep hoping there is a episode where there will be a sexual surprise

Well your mom wasn't supposed to have you watching that show when you was little because of the language

Plus, there were a lot of adult situations like when Becky wanted her mom to get her birth control pills, when Darlene admitted to using drugs, when Darlene was shacking up with David in Chicago, Jackie's many casual man friends, Nancy's lesbian lovers, etc....those are just some off the top of my head.

Well that isn't bad language by the time Roseanne had the episodes about DJ's erections and masturbating I was probably in middle school and I'm pretty sure my mom knew I knew what those terms were and I knew what it was. Plus back then I had heard worse and knew about a lot of things kids shouldn't know about I was a tom boy and just about all of my friends were boys.

Erection is not a term you hear on a family sitcom that often so it surprised me.
