Lightbulb Is Charlie Brown a Bully and Inappropriate for Today's Kids? Some Say So...

"Fox & Friends" reports watching Charlie Brown reruns prompted one dad to blog about how the show is inappropriate for today's children, sparking a national conversation.

While some like Sharon Osbourne agree that such shows brainwash children into thinking it's okay to put others down, many parents took to the Internet to express their disagreement.

Commenters on the "Daddy" blog said they saw the show and never bullied anyone.

Oh good lord.

Sharon Osbourne, a woman who has done nothing but argue and pick fights with everyone for 20 years is worried about bullying.

Seriously, some people need to put their big boy (and girl) pants on. Everyone isn't going to be nice to you or love you.

Oh No

Good Grief!

Charlie Brown is the one that gets bullied, his peers call him a "Blockhead", Lucy doesn't let Charlie Brown kick the football, no one gives Charlie Brown a Valentine, Charlie Brown is like the most unluckiest character of all time...I even wrote an article called "16 Cartoons Who Get The Shaft" and Charlie Brown is #1, one above Kenny McCormick from "South Park", despite Kenny dying in almost every episode!

Cool

Peanuts cartoons reflect a very realistic view of life where not everything goes your way but you don't give up. You keep trying! Charlie Brown is still trying to kick that football! He's still trying to win that first baseball game! He's still trying to have enough courage to speak to the little red-headed girl. Ultimitely the message of Peanuts is very positive! It's about keeping the faith. Not giving up. Perseverence in the face of trials. And for that we can thank it's creator Charles "Sparky" Schultz!

In the Peanuts cartoons, it's not just Charlie Brown who gets bullied by Lucy and the other female characters, it's Linus. If you saw "It's the Great Pumpkin, charlie Brown" on Halloween night, you noticed that Linus gets bullied by Lucy when writing a letter to The Great Pumpkin and Sally in the pumpkin patch. She says to him, "if you try to hold my hand, I'll slug you."

The male characters aren't the only ones who suffer from bullying. Snoopy also is bullied by Lucy in "A Charlie Brown Christmas " and in the movie "Snoopy, Come Home."

Sharon O. worries about animated cartoons, but what would she say about marrying someone who bit the head off of a bat...?

Wonderfully stated, Marv! I just watched this last night and I loved it! Hadn't seen it in a really long time and I loved Charlie Brown standing up to the kid who was bullying the others. Peanuts is wonderful...
