Default "Checking In" - The Jeffersons Spin-off

Anybody else remember the Florence spin-off called Checking In?

Don't know if anyone would care but there's a guy on IMDB claiming to have the show on audio tape.

I would love to be able to find these episodes, just to see it for more Florence and to perhaps work out why it failed.

I remember once in the 90s Nick at Nite showed the episode of THE JEFFERSONS that was a "back door pilot" for it.

I remember the show and watched. I wasn't impressed it just wasn't funny and she needed a better supporting cast. I'm glad she was able to go back to The Jeffersons.

Yeah I saw it when I was a kid when it ran originally. I didn't think it was all that funny even then. That's the only case of a character being spun off to their own series and then returning to the original TV series after the spinoff was cancelled that I know of. Does anybody know if it's happened on other shows? Because usually a character gets a spinoff series, and the series gets cancelled but the character is never seen or even mentioned on the original show again, they just disappear. LOL.

Thanks treky. I didn't know that because I didn't watch Happy Days in the later seasons. I was a teen then and I did watch Joanie Loves Chachi and liked it. I was really bummed when it got cancelled.

The 4 episodes of "Checking In" will be included as special features on the upcoming 12/9/14 release of "The Jeffersons" complete series set.

The show had Larry Linville who played a Frank Burns character named Lyle Block. Linville could never break out of Frank Burns mode. Marla Gibbs was just playing Florence, who wants Florence cracking on Frank Burns every week? Fail.

Officer Smitty and the old lady who lived in the window upstairs made 227!
