This is the "Sweatshirt Monsters" episode from the fifth season . The summary on Wikipedia said "Beaver, Richard, Whitey and Alan each buy sweatshirts with monster faces on the front . They wear them to school the next day, only to have their parents forbid them doing it . Beaver, however, manages to sneak out of the house wearing his ." . What happened when Beaver was the only boy wearing one of these sweatshirts ? How did Ward and June react ?

Although Beaver's parents forbid him to wear the sweatshirt, he goes into the garage as he leaves for school and takes off a shirt he is wearing over the sweatshirt. Upon entering the classroom, he finds he is the only one to be wearing a monster sweatshirt. When the other students laugh, the teacher sends him to Mrs. Rayburn's office. Ward is summoned to the principal's office and sees that Beaver has worn the sweatshirt to school despite being ordered not to. Ward apologizes to Mrs. Rayburn. After Beaver arrives home, he is made to stay in his room for the weekend; then is lectured to about what he did by Ward late on (what is assumed to be) Sunday afternoon. As I recall, the moral of the story is: just because "everybody" is doing something, it doesn't necessarily make it right.

Another thing I would have gotten my hind end beat for that Beaver did and got off easy! I liked the episode though.

This episode reminds me of "Rudy's Walk on the Wildside" from The Cosby Show. Rudy steals money to buy a blinking sweatshirt (like her friends) and in the end the shirt doesn't work.

I saw a photo of the monster sweatshirts and I see why Beaver got caught in school. Those monsters were really ugly. No wonder Ward punished him.

Also Ward made it clear to Beaver not to wear that shirt.
