The detectives of New York City's Major Case Squad have a new addition as The Eighth Year commences.

Following Detective Logan's departure at the end of year Seven, Detective Zach Nichols (Jeff Goldblum) joins the force as Wheeler's (Julianne Nicholson) new partner.
