In A Matter of Mothers, it is revealed in an elevator scene that Mrs. Gordon hired Jeffrey to help set up Willona as a bad parent, in order to have the courts send Penny back to Mrs. Gordon. I think the elevator scene should have been cut out and think the audience would have been really shocked if Mrs. Gordon showed up out of nowhere saying, "The mistake seems to have been yours, after Willona says "There's gotta be a mistake." That would have been so much better to have her explain to the audience and the characters that Jeffrey was a hired actor then....
