GT vs. the Cosby Show/Jeffersons

GT was a show about a very poor (money-wise) family where The Jeffersons and the Cosby Show showed a completely opposite dynamic. Why do you think they wrote GT this way? Was it more realistic than the Cosby Show or Jeffersons?

Good Times was based on the life of Eric Monte in the city of Chicago during the 1960's and yes it was more realistic than the Cosby Show and the Jeffersons
in 1974

Because at that time most blacks could not relate to the lifestyle of the Huxtables.

How do you know? There are a lot of black people did not grow up poor. There are a lot of black people who grew up in a middle class household. To say that most black people cannot relate to the Huxtables is not true.

I'm black and I found the Huxtable family (Cosby Show) totally unrealistic for that time. Not so much if it was now though. The situation on Good Times was a lot more realistic for the 70s. And The Jeffersons was a hell of a lot more realistic than The Cosby Show, too. George started out poor.
