James Evans OR George Jeffereson?

Which 70s TV dad do you like best from Good Times or The Jeffersons? From Good Times, I thought James Evans was way too hot tempered and always complaining. From The Jeffersons, George never complained too much even back when he lived in Queens. And when he did complain, he was funny and he made light out of the situation. As narrow minded as George could sometimes be, I always found him to be much more pleasant than James Evans. When I really think about it, I guess I don't like James much at all. I like George Jefferson a lot, so he gets my vote.

George is someone I would enjoy spending time with. James is NOT.

James wasn't hot tempered around his friends, just his family. The Same with George, I could have hung out with either one

I like George better, although it's very possible that I would have gotten along better with James.

That would be fun for James and George to meet, but I don't think they have a lot in common.

George because he had money and knew how to make more money. James was too proud and said too many things about his wife and why she should not work, even though they were struggling. A father should not allow his family to be suffering or struggling if there is a way to have a little better home life by allowing his wife to work or at least receiving temporary help from welfare.

George was more determined and successful than James. George also allowed Weezie to work when they were poor. She was a maid until they moved on up and then she volunteered at the Help Center with Helen. George seemed to be a much better husband than James. He treated Louise with a lot more respect than James treated his wife.

Also, there was a few episodes where James wouldn't even show up for his job interviews because he used the excuse that he assumed "another door would be slammed in his face." George would never have acted that way. That's why George became a success. He wasn't always a wealthy store owner. He was once poor, too, but he made something of himself. He struggled like a lot of people and he didn't complain half as much as James did.

I was really disappointed in James when he decided to not to show up at the interview. That was uncalled for

It was uncalled for, and what made it worse is that it was the day that Michael was writing his essay on the man he admires most. James was such a jerk in that episode.

You were probably watching the seasons of Good times when he was no longer on the show. The fact that it was 3 seasons with James and 3 seasons without James, I always found it funny that no matter when you turn to a channel that is airing Good Times, you always seen a Post James episode

George also had a more pleasant disposition. He seemed happy most of the time. James always seemed cranky, and he did complain a lot.
