Lifetime has a new movie out ~ "Abducted: The Carlina White Story". Initial airing will be later today at 8 p.m. EST, but if you miss that, it reruns later. Check your listings.
And immediately following that is a new episode of Beyond the Headlines: "The Carlina White Story", that airs at 10 p.m. EST, Sat 10/6 |

I was able to watch most of the program which aired last night, 10/17. IMO, it was well done but at the end it showed sort of a conclusion with words on the screen.
It pretty much said that Carlina continues to have a very close relationship with her birth family. Contradicting this were previous articles I'd read stating that the initial meetings were fine, but she then wanted money out of her relatives and eventually broke off contact. Anyone know what's really going on? Did they just end the TV movie that way to give it a "feel good" ending or did the family get past the bad stuff by the time the show was filmed and things really are going well? |

I watched the movie about her. Very good if you ask me. I think they said she got mad at her real family for using up the money they received from the hospital or something like that and she stopped talking to them but later reconciled, but now totally sure.

I saw the behind the scenes episode last night. It makes Carlina's reactions easier to understand. I think Ann should have gotten a minimum sentence of 23 years- the time she took Carlina from her parents. But no time will ever be enough because none of them will ever have the relationship they would have had if Carlina had been raised by her parents.
I understand how Carlina has feelings for both families, coming from a similar but different circumstance. I was taken from my bio mother at 3 days and raised by an adoptive family. My mother was forced to give me up. I love my adoptive family, and have had the big reunion with the bio family. But it isn't happily ever after. There are problems that even though you all love each other, it just isn't and never will be the same as if you were raised in the family you were born into. I hope that all of them(excluding Ann!) make peace with the past and form a new relationship they can accept and live with. |
