I used to watch this show long ago and it was one of my favorites. I'm wondering what happened to them, I know the "Greg Bentley" went on to a couple of very popular shows---Charlie's Angels and Dynasty---but what of the rest of the cast?

Bernadette Withers, who played Ginger, lives in Southern California, working as a Partner Manager for a large software company.

Hi,
Just found this site. A couple years ago, I searched everywhere for anything on Bachelor Father. Wasn't much out there. I also started a Yahoo news group, but nobody ever joined... :-( As for Sammee Tong, I read somewhere he committed suicide in the early 60s. I don't know anything more about it though. He was my favorite character too (other than Kelly, who I had a crush on) And I also know Kelly was in a 60s girl group for a while. Other than that, does anyone have tapes of the show they want to trade? I have quite a few, but I'm dying to get my hands on as many as I can! Kent |

Speaking of Bernadette Withers, was she related to Jane?

No. The two actresses are not related. Bernadette was very pretty but not that good at acting. She seemed like she was in another world than everyone else while on BF.

I wouldn't say she was pretty. She was cute in a pie face way. She seemed to act very natural on the show. I thought she was perfect in a non threatening way. One ep when Kelly ran for Pres. She was snotty to a girl who deserved it. In a cute way though she got her point across. For yrs I thought Bernadette and Jane were mother/daughter they resemble each other!!!

...committed suicide in January 1965 (while appearing as a supporting player on Mickey's Rooney's ABC sitcom, "MICKEY") because he was involved in a BIG gambling debt that he knew he'd never be able to pay off. Apparently, the renewal of "MICKEY" for the entire 1964-'65 season hinged on Tong's availability. Both died at the same time.
Noreen Corcoran eventually retired from show business, and is living a quiet life these days. Ditto John Forsythe.

John Forsythe also did the voice of Charlie in the two CHARLIES ANGELS movies.

Sadly,John Forsythe died yesterday (4-1-2010,and gang,it's no april fools joke)at 92.Hey,by the way, does anyone remember Forsythe's OTHER two lesser-known shows NBC's"The John Forsythe Show"from 1965-1966 which started out as a comedy, but the comedy format was scrapped at midseason and it became a spy drama, and CBS'1969-1971 comedy "To Rome With Love"?

yes, I remember "TO ROME WITH LOVE". I used to like that show; it was from Don Federson productions which also had 2 other shows at the time-"FAMILY AFFAIR" & MY 3 SONS". I remember once they did a crossover episode with "MY THREE SONS" and another time they did a crossover episode with "FAMILY AFFAIR".
I wish the show was on DVD!! |

I think Bernadette was a gifted comedienne. Her facial expressions, and flair for physical comedy were good for a laugh now and then. Out of her and Noreen, Bernadette was the cut up and Noreen was the straight one. Hate that Ms. Withers' career never took off
