Question Brady Bunch and Nixon

Has anyone ever thought about the fact that the entire run of Brady Bunch occurred during the Nixon administration and that Nixon resigned about the same time it was announced that Brady Bunch would not be coming back for season 6?

There is no connection between the network run of the Brady Bunch and the resignation of Nixon. The show ended because it couldn't compete with Sanford and Son

I didn't say there was a connection, I just thought it was interesting.

As for Sanford and Son, there are a lot of reasons why Brady Bunch was cancelled, and that isn't usually very high on the list.

Well you may have a point because even before Sanford and Son the show never did well in the ratings. Surprised it lasted as long as it did

One of the reasons the show was cancelled because the kids were growing up.

The Brady Bunch was cancelled because they were "jinxed" by Cousin Oliver!

I don't accept the "they were growing up argument" reason since all the kids besides Greg were all under 18 the year the show was cancelled

Actually 2 of them was in middle school and the other 2 was in highschool

It was just their time. It's like putting a pet down, there's no sense in fighting for it's life anymore.

Sorry if that was a cruel way to put it.

Wonder why the Patridge Family always did so much better than the Brady Bunch in the ratings

Though the Nixon Presidency started January 20, 1969, and The Brady Bunch premiered in September, they both ran from 1969-1974! I always thought that was interesting! (Have a Nice Day!)

Just curious, what is so interesting about it?

That it had the same year dates. Is that weird, to think that's interesting?

A little since Nixon's resignation was only because of a scandal. If it wasn't for that he would have finished out his term to 1976

I don't understand, what's your point? I was just agreeing with "Six-Fingers" noticing that the Nixon administration and The Brady Bunch existed with-in the same years, and that I thought it was interesting. If Nixon finished out his term in Jan. 1977, then we wouldn't even be discussing this!
