I just found out at the Forensic Files web site that reruns of the series will soon be airing on HLN (formerly known as CNN Headline News). The announcement comes as no surprise, since HLN airs reruns of some of TruTV's now-defunct true crime shows, including The Investigators and Body of Evidence. Although HLN is Trutv's sister network (as both networks are owned by Turner Broadcasting), it will be airing Forensic Files under the title Mystery Detectives. Trutv will continue to air FF, however. Apparently, HLN will be airing reruns of FF that have since been phased out of Trutv's rotation.

Thanks for the info! Glad to hear that because I had started watching "Medical Detectives" months back on Lifetime but they didn't air it long. It seems the "Medical Detectives" episodes are the older Forensic Files and there are some I've been dying to see again.

By the way, if you have been noticing that there have been nothing but repeats of FF lately, it is not your imagination. The last original episode ("Expert Witness") aired on June 17, 2011. Soon afterwards, it was announced that the show was on hiatus. But the door remains open for new episodes. In fact, I recently emailed the show, asking about the current status, and they said it is still on hiatus, but they plan to bring the show back in production. Although they stopped short of being too specific about when it may happen, I was assured that series producer Paul Dowling will make an announcement on the matter as soon as the plans are finalized. |

I use to watch FF so much that I got burned out on it, so it would be nice to see some new episodes cause i've seen the old ones four or five times each. I picked up a dvd of FF a few months ago at Best Buy for $5 and havent even watched it yet. lol I' ll get around to it eventually though.

Apparently some new episodes are finished, but right now no network in the US has the rights to air them.

HLN aired the four consecutive episodes last night, from 9:00 to 11:00 (EST). More episodes are going to air thoughout the day today until later in the evening. They have been showing episodes that have been absent from Trutv in recent years, including "The Financial Downfall," a 2004 episode that recalls the case of a couple who sent a young woman to her death from a California cliff in 1987.
