Rolleyes IT'S NOT THE HOLE IN THE BOAT OR TOO MANY CLOTHES, IT'S.......

Ok. We've all heard countless times, and maybe even from ourselves, about the unbelievability of the Professor not being able to figure out how to fix the hole in the boat or the Howells (and others) having too many clothes for a 3 hour boat tour. But, do you have your own nagging GI snippet of unbelievability regarding something on the show?

What makes you say, "Come on!"

I HATE when people are all, "Pffft, the Professor could make a radio out of coconuts, but he couldn't fix the hole in the boat?"

1. He never made a radio out of coconuts.

2. The boat fell completely apart in episode 8 after he DID try to fix the hole in the boat.

If someone gives me that line I will punch them in the face. Pay attention, people.

But about the show itself, I just roll my eyes at some things and carry on my way. You can't let it bother you - you can't get bogged down in "realism." It's real for that world, so it doesn't have to make sense in ours.

I guess mine would be too many guest stars making it back from the island and not saying anything about seeing the Howell's or Ginger. Some of them made sense why they couldn't talk about the castaways, but some were just kind of annoying in their explanation. You'd think they'd mention seeing famous missing people.

We see Skipper shave, I believe it was in "Love Me, Love My Skipper". He had a straight edge razor.

Lol at the toilet jokes

For me, the chief bugbear (sounds like a character from Dusty's Trail, Chief Bugbear) is people who think Gilligan was to blame for everything. I will punch anyone in the face who says, "Why didn't they just kill Gilligan?"

Gilligan has a heart of gold. If I had to 'kill' anyone it'd be Mr. Howell for never doing any work and being an overblown windbag.

I also hate that whole 'radio out of coconuts' thing.

You also see the Professor shaving, but I forget which episode that's in.

I agree. As long as something is not so glaringly stupid as to be majorly annoying, just look at it as good old family entertainment and accept it for what it is. There are tons of threads on the forum for another show that analyzes the slightest unrealistic point to the level of making me wonder how that poster enjoys the show. It exists in its own universe to give us an escape from our day-to-day reality and that is good enough for me.

You could have expressed your feelings nicely without threatening people. Physical violence causes more problems.

Maybe it would be better to say, "I will hit anyone over the head with my hat who says..."

Because after all, the Skipper got away with violence, in fact everyone laughs when Gilligan gets hit.

TEEBS! You said the same exact thing in your post, lol.

And, um, it's just an expression. It would be physically impossible for me to actually punch someone in the face (especially over the internet - or over this show). Nor would I want to try to.

I did! No-one spotted it, haha. *wipes brow*

Suitable emoticon?

Oh no, physical violence as a form of comedy! It can only lead to more problems! Lol. Right...
