Found great free data software for TV shows - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What's a good way to keep track of your stuff on DVDs?

For movies, I use a great free program. EMDB Eric's Movie Database.

It also works OK for TV but is there a better program for TV shows?

(also for books or CDS)

Suggestions welcome.

I use DVD Profiler. It's mostly just for retail releases, but you can tweak it to include non retail.

Try TV Collector from Collectorz.com. They use their own database but it fills in MOST episode titles for unreleased series as well as retail.

Eric's Movie Database or EMDB, a free program, now does TV episodes.
It's easy to use.
To add a program, it searches IMDB.
To add TV episode listings, it searches TVDB and will add episode info.
I recommend it.

Now I just wish I had a database program as good for CD's and for books.

I just have all my stuff on a word document and then use IMDB for anything I need relating to the Movie. Not sure why I would need these programs.

I switched from Word file because it's easier to enter data and also stay up to date.

You just enter title and it collects info from IMDB and TVDB.

Then as needed, I can output relevant info as HTML, CSV, or txt file.
Txt file is small, easy to email, and up to date.
HTML means you could put it online.

Usually only the title and year are relevant
but I can include any field such as cast, genre, plot summary or others.
You can add your own genres.

You can do a combined search. Genres and a specific star like John Wayne.
I can have alphabetized list by year if I like.

For watching, if my wife says she wants a film noir and romance. I get a list and click on IMDB rating and see what's best.

Now that it does TV shows, it has episode listing with plot summary.

ah, that would be nice to search my movies by actor. That would come in handy.

Since it's a free and not a huge program, why not just try it?
First with movies.
That's easier since it's a single entity.

It can even pull movie info of movies off hard drives.

Other useful feature. Owned or Wish lists. Loaned to. Location of discs. Etc.

Search for Eric's Movie Database EMDB.

The developer will even answer emailed questions.

Or post it here and I will answer.
