"New Girl" Adds Carla Gugino for 3-Episode Arc

Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is hopping in bed with another boss during the second season of Fox's "New Girl".

A network rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Carla Gugino has been cast to play his colleague, and, as EW first reported, they enter a kinky relationship that seems to reference Fifty Shades of Grey.

The three-episode arc, which kicks off in episode seven of the upcoming run, finds Gugino playing the mild-mannered Emma who reveals herself to be something of a freak, when she contractually binds him to her.

"New Girl" returns to Fox on Sept. 25, with two new episodes at 8 and 9 p.m., before settling in at just 9 p.m. the following Tuesday.
