Who was the most beautiful sitcom actress ever? Using the decade by decade show listings on this web site, I’ve broken it down by decades…some of my choices:
50s Audrey Meadows Elinore Donahue Lucille Ball – she was 40 when ILLucy went on the air…I think she was a beautiful woman back in those days, as well as before that 60s Barbara Eden (imho, the most beautiful sitcom actress ever). Lori Sanders (Bobbi Jo – the best of the Bradley girls) Dawn Wells (Mary Ann) Mary Tyler Moore (DVD Show) Melody Paterson (Wrangler Jane – I read that she was only 16 when the show started) Linda Kaye Henning (Betty Jo – 2nd best of the Bradley Girls) Tina Louise (Ginger) Donna Douglass (Elly May – had a hillbilly hair do, but she was truly a beautiful lady) Eva Gabor (Lisa Douglass – didn’t really appreciate her until I saw the show in reruns) Elizabeth Montgomery (Samantha) Tina Cole (Katie Douglass - My 3 Sons) Barbara Feldon (Agent 99) Marlo Thomas (That Girl) 70s Valerie Bertinelli (could be listed under 80s) Susan Dey Jan Brady (5th season, especially) Marcia Brady Loni Anderson Pam Dawber Suzanne Pleshette Valerie Harper Cindy Williams I think Harper was a very pretty lady (and made a beautiful bride), and I always thought Cindy Williams was very cute… 80s Lilith Crane Markie Post Rebecca Howe (Kirstie Alley) Diane Chambers (Shelly Long) Phylicia (sp?) Rashaad – I thought she was beautiful when the Cosby Show aired, but with the exception of Meredith Baxter Birney, she’s the worst actrees on this list Dana Plato – she was so cute, wasn’t used enough on Diff Strokes Lisa Whelchel Nancy McKeon Meredith Baxter Birney – see Rashaad comments Justine Bateman 90s Julie Louis Dreyfus Kristy McNichol Christina Applegate Helen Hunt – she could look great when she had her hair a certain way, but I actually didn’t like her looks at the end of the series, when her hair was kinda flat (did she “iron” it at the end of the series?) the girl who played Hillary Banks on Fresh Prince I admit there were a lot of shows in the 50s, 90s and currently that I haven't really seen, mostly because I'm not impressed with the quality of today's sitcoms...so there are, I'm sure, a lot of beauties that I'm missing...but these ladies here are picked from shows that I'm familiar with, and for the most part, I watched most of these shows at least during part of their runs (except for 50s shows)...also, these shows were, for the most part, fairly long running…I wasn’t trying to include every beauty that was ever in a sitcom, especially the one-season wonders that I never saw… Anyone want to add to my list? Who am I missing? |

Good catch, Jimbo, I fully intended to include both Marilyn Munsters, and somehow I left them off my list..
In my defense, I had Val Bertinelli and Pam Dawber listed under '70s, because that's where their shows are listed on this website... I don't have a clear pic in my mind of Mr Ed's Carol Post, and I was never a WKRP fan, so the only thing I remember about that show was Loni.. Suzanne Sommers and Melissa Joan Hart are also both excellent pics (and picks)...I think SOmmers looks better the older she gets. What to me is interesting about Shelly Fabares, is that she was a beautiful young lady on the Donna Reed show, then she became a beautiful lady on "One Day at a Time", and she was STILL a beautiful lady on "Coach". Not bad longevity.. Oh yeah, and mstewart...I forgot ab. Pat Crowley of Please Don't Eat the Daisies...I had a crush on her when that show ran... Good picks, everybody!!

I think Barbara Eden is one of the most beautiful actresses ever. I remember when I was little, I'd watch reruns of I Dream Of Jeannie and I'd wish to look like her.

As far as the current shows go, in my humble opinion the most beautiful actresses in TV comedy are (in no particular order)
Portia de Rossi - "Ally McBeal" Cynthia Waltros - "Titus" Julie Bowen - "Ed" |

:confused I think you got the majority of hotties from sitcoms, although I'd like to add Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond (She's so cute) What about Fannie Flagg? I'm not sure if she starred in a sitcom, but, in the 70's she looked like a groovy, foxy chick!

No need to "defend" yourself, Tweety! I thought I had looked at your list pretty closely, but obviously, I overlooked those two somehow (I must be getting older if I'm overlooking two women as beautiful as Valeri Bertinelli and Pam Dawber!). |
