Do you remember that after Chad Lowe quit, he was replaced by Ross Harris (who was nothing at all like Chad) and the show was renamed "Under One Roof"? Weird.

I HATED that guy!!!!He was not at all Chad Lowes doppelganger!!! Couldnt they at least hire a blonde????The show sucked when they re-vamped it. I think I read somewhere that Chad thought the show was trashy because his charactor was always lookin to get "lucky"but I thought it was a good show.I liked him in it.

I remember when Chad Lowe left this show.
Amazing how much his career has taken off since then huh?
What a moron.

I remember Spencer. Still have an old copy of TV Guide someplace the week it debuted on NBC. Supposed to give him his big break as his brother Rob was a "hot star" at this time.

I remember some kind of legal problem that resulted Chad Lowe leaving this show, anybody know the story about this one?

I do recall after he left a lot of the teen magazines ( 16, Tiger Beat, ect....) kept his picture on the cover and continued to do stories on him in hopes he will land on anther series, didnt happened.

But I believe he did do a tv movie around the same time as Spencer on teen suicide.

Chad Lowe left the series because of a salary dispute (in other words, he wanted more cash) after only a handful of episodes according to a book I have.
Which was a shame because I liked the show.
It was different from other shows, because at the time there weren't too many that dealt with teens; unlike today when TV is flooded with teen character shows.
I could be wrong on this one, did every episode begin with him getting thrown out of class (usually for asking some strange question) and going to the Principal's office or something?
I remember this detail because it was one of the things that stuck out about the character. He wasn't trying to be a wise-ass, he was just misunderstood. Modern shows have tried to do the same thing with their teen protagonists.

Bonus points for me for using the word protagonist.

yeah,he got thrown outta class and they'd show his black sneakers walkin to the principals office!!
Actually, before we say he never worked again:he did play Jesse:Beckas boyfriend with AIDS in Life Goes On.He was good in that too.
Now sadly he's remembered for being Mr. Hilary Swank.
