On all of the other Futurama message boards I'm a member of, ever since the show came back, all they've done was complain. They kept complaining about how much the DVD movies suck, how much the new episodes suck, how much the characters suck, how much the new seasons suck, how much the characters suck, and how much the comic books suck.
What's with that? It seems like people on some message boards only like episodes that are based on the Fry/Leela relationship. I for one have loved the new seasons of Futurama since it came back in 2010. Loved the DVD movies, too! Didn't really like the forth one too much. Everytime after an episode airs, people keep reflecting on what they don't like about the episode, and believe the whole show sucks because of it. I didn't see anything different about the new seasons, Futurama is as better than ever. I don't care about continuity, or the Fry/Leela relationship. All they do is overanalyze about what they don't like about it. Can't people just be happy with what they have? Also, it is like this on the Family Guy and American Dad groups, too. What do people want to watch? MTV's teen sitcoms, reality shows, singing shows, and more seasons of The Simpsons? |

Personally, I find the Fry/Leela eps the most boring, in general. I'm not a fan of the whole "will they or won't they?" cliches that so many shows do these days. An occasional nod to the fact that Fry loves Leela is OK but they overdo it anymore. Either have them get together or drop it.
As for the new seasons, I'm sorry but I agree that they aren't as strong. I still watch the show and probably will keep on with it, but the writing doesn't seem as sharp as it once was. They don't seem to have as many original ideas as they did. How many times have they done the "something has happened to the crews' (or one of the crews) bodies" now? It's still a good show and better than most of the drek that's out there now. I just don't find myself laughing at it much, and I really want to. |
