Default Had the chief never died what would have happened?

Especially with his character and the show.

Something tells me it would have gone on until 1988, 1989 or 1990, had Dolf lived. The show was really at its best in seasons 3-4. It went downhill in season 5.

Do you think the Chief and Jonathan would have gotten along?

Would Katie finally move out and get a place of her own or would she have moved home with the family?

Would all of the episodes that were planned for season 5 not happened and some other season of different episodes happened instead?

Would the Chief had finally found a woman to settle down with?

Do you think they would have written Julie as being pregnant that soon, or had Dolf stayed, would Jonathan had not gone on that archaeological dig in Mexico?

Would Mama Maybelle still have shown up for that episode "Mama" or would they not hav even bothered to bring Rosetta back, as Dolf would still have been alive, or would she have shown up for a few shows but in different storylines?

Do you think the 1986-1987 season with Dolf would have featured him getting married again or the birth of Julie's baby/the baby growing up, or do you think the baby would have not happened so soon?

Do you think the show would have gone into a 7th, 8th or even 9th year? Remember, Facts of Life went 9 years and Diff'rent Strokes went 7 on NBC.

I think that the writers knew that Dolph did not have that much time, so they brought in Johnathan. Had the Chief lived I don't think that all of the girls would have moved away from home. I also think that Johnathan would have gotten on the Chief nerves because he was such a klutz. But in the end they would have gotten along.

I am probably the only person who truly enjoyed seasons 5 & 6 so it's hard for me to imagine those two seasons going any differently.

In his only episode with Jonathan, he didn't care for him, and I think Jonathan just says hello to him and he just stands there. It seemed pretty boring to me. A few episodes from season 4 were slowly progressing into what season 5 was soon to become. For example...Joey Goes to New Orleans...no Chief. Nell's birthday, no Chief. Mentions of him yet he's not there. Grandpa's secret life, no mention at all of the Chief, as if he was dead. Sam's first love just had him on the phone in 1 scene. Alabamy Bound had the Chief in just one quick scene in each part at the beginning...Friendship just had the Chief in the first scene...The only episodes that really focused on the Chief in his final season were Carl's Delicate Moment, TV or Not TV, and Monkey See, Monkey Do...the rest of the episodes had him throughout but not as much.

No, you're not. I too, enjoyed those seasons as they probably are my favorites along with season four.
