Life As We Know It

This story follows the life of recent Chicago newlyweds, Danny and Christine Kirkpatrick (Bret Harrison, Amanda Bynes) and their six friends (Stephanie, Jake, Bobby, Juliet, Carter, Kelly). Danny works as a bartender at an upscale martini bar. Christine works as a beautician with dreams of someday opening up her own salon. Christine's beautiful fashionista and former rival-turned-best friend, Stephanie Davis (Brittany Snow) who works as a nanny for a wealthy married couple, who's marriage is on the rocks. Danny's hunky and ladies man best friend, Jake Spencer (Jake McDorman) also works as a bartender with Danny, and secretly harbors feelings for Stephanie. Danny's old college roommate, Bobby Spencer (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) is a radio dj who dreams of becoming a record producer someday but his own insecurities get in his way. Christine's quirky, plus-sized British friend/co-worker, Juliet Brooks (Rebel Wilson) works as the receptionist at Christine's salon and longs to find a good man who can see her for her inner beauty. Danny's ambitious, openly bisexual stepbrother, Carter Rocheleau (Andrew Garfield) works as an intern for his father's law firm. Carter's beautiful girlfriend, Kelly Yang (Brenda Song) works as a retail cosmetics salesgirl, who isn't bothered by the fact that her boyfriend is bisexual. However, Carter recently begins to experiences doubts about him and Kelly, but doesn't want to disrupt his "perfect life". Watch how these eight friends go about their daily lives and experience the trials and tribulations of life in their mid-twenties.

Default Episodes

Pilot Episode:
Christine and Danny return back to town after their honeymoon in the Bahamas and reunited with their friends. Jake and Bobby decide to throw Danny and Christine a welcome back party at the bar, which turns into an 'epic fail' since neither guy is good at planning out events. Meanwhile, Carter begins to develop a wandering eye.

Can't Stop Loving You:
Carter tries to bring back his focus to Kelly, who can't help but find Carter acting weird lately. Elsewhere, Christine and Juliet dread having to deal with a difficult client. Meanwhile, Jake and Stephanie hang out at the bar while visiting Danny, who discovers that Jake has feelings for Stephanie.

Four, Just Four:
While working at the radio station, Bobby scores four tickets to the Wiz Khalifa concert in Milwaukee. Bobby has difficulties deciding which other three friends to bring with him. The friends are pitted against each other for the three remaining tickets. Bobby ends up taking Danny, Jake, and Carter. Meanwhile, Stephanie ends up playing marriage counselor to the Harrisons (Dan Cortese, Leah Remini), as they decide to drag Stephanie into their problems.

One Hospital:
Juliet has a family emergency. Her father, John (John Goodman) has had a heart attack, but she doesn't want to go alone and have to deal with her meddlesome mom, Nadine (Jennifer Coolidge). Christine and Stephanie decide to go with Juliet for support. Meanwhile at the hospital, Kelly is the labor coach for a very pregnant co-worker of hers, Beth (Daniella Monet) who's boyfriend is away in the military. Kelly witnesses the birth and decides she wants to have a baby. After Kelly confides in Carter of her dreams of being a mom, Carter freaks out and turns to the guys for advice on how to deal with it.

Distractions and Attractions:
Jake decides to strike up interest in the beautiful new cocktail waitress, Valerie (Crystle Stewart) in hopes of taking his mind off Stephanie. Meanwhile, Carter's "the one that got away" and old flame, Max (Taylor Handley) returns back to town, which causes Carter to begin to experience mixed feelings. Although Max broke Carter's heart and left town abruptly a year ago, Carter still finds himself attracted to him. Elsewhere, the girls try to find Bobby a girlfriend.

Some People Never Change:
After running into a former mutual friend from their past, Stephanie and Christine reminicise how their friendship went from longtime bitter rivals to super close best friends. While rehashing how things came about, the two friends end up getting into an argument over what really happened. Meanwhile, Danny and Bobby catch Carter hanging out with Max again, thus causing them to feel they need to talk to Max about his true intentions with Carter. Elsewhere, Jake and Valerie go out on a date.

Men, Money, and The Missing Mascara:
Carter learns of Bobby and Danny's little talk with Max. Carter and Danny get into it, resulting in both stepbrothers not talking to each other. Jake learns that Juliet, Stephanie, and Christine aren't too fond of Valerie. Elsewhere, Kelly deals with witnessing the boss's daughter (Emma Roberts) stealing some mascara and being conflicted.

A Little Tension Never Killed The Group:
The fact that Danny and Carter still aren't talking is starting to make things awkward for the group. Meanwhile, Carter decides to rekindle his old flame with Max after one drunken night. Kelly begins to sense that Carter's been a bit distant and the group is being awkward lately. Elsewhere, Stephanie decides to go on a blind double date with Juliet and a guy she met on the internet. During the date, Stephanie becomes annoyed by her date and his hipster ways, and Juliet's date turns out to be super male chauvinistic and rude.

Psycho Girl Has Returned:
Danny's psychotic ex-fiancee, Renee (Rachel Bilson) returns back to town and wants to have dinner with Danny and Christine, who both are dreading the dinner. During dinner, Renee drops the bomb that she wants Danny's sperm so she can have a child by herself and doesn't have money to choose a sperm donor. Danny is flattered but unsure of what to decide, and Christine is displeased and upset when Danny informs her that her opinion on the matter isn't needed. Elsewhere, Jake meets Valerie's 8-year-old son. Meanwhile, Kelly turns to Juliet for guidance about how to cope with a distant Carter, after Carter cancels a dinner date with her to hang with Max.

The Little Help Boy:
Stephanie gets Bobby a little side job as the Harrisons' handyman around the house for a few weeks. While working, Bobby and Julia Harrison (Leah Remini) hit it off great together, causing a little bit sexual tension. Meanwhile, Danny decides he can't give Renee his sperm, which mades Christine relieved but upsets Renee (who locks herself in their bathroom). Elsewhere, Kelly discovers Carter is cheating on her and decides to confront him about it.

Escape Your Troubles:
After Carter confesses he's been cheating on her with Max, Kelly decides to take off to blow off steam. Juliet, Stephanie, Jake, and Valerie decide to go in search of Kelly. Meanwhile, Christine and Danny decide to have a talk with Carter, which makes Carter feel ganged up on and drives him further in Max's arms. Elsewhere, Bobby and Julia decide to take their sexual tension to the next level secretly.
