I just got some more on eBay!! Check it out on: http://content.communities.msn.com/E..._whatsnew.msnw Get your hankies ready. This is the last interview Freddie did with the Enquirer (Dec 20, 76) about his marriage break up. It was published shortly after his death in 77. |

You're right, I needed the hankies. I went thru a few reading it. It was so sad. He thought she was there for him & when he needed her the most she left him. He missed his little baby so much & cried over it. It's so sad.
The pain he must've felt in his last days...

Luckymama,
I am always grateful for all of the information you post and share with all of us. This article though, I felt, was exceptionally poignant. Freddie's own words of the BOTH of them realizing that they needed to be apart and of the civility of how they both tried to work through it yet came to the same conclusion for the future effects toward their son were extremely revealing into their relationship and the love they shared not only for each other but for their son. Even with all the outside influence and confusion of the drug use, Freddie's soul still shined through enough at times to reveal his complete love, caring, and understanding that even with the best of efforts on everyone's part to the best of their ability at the time.....situations still don't work in the best manner in which we hope. It came through that he understood that it was not for lack of trying...it just wasn't attainable at that time. Without the drugs he probably would have never lost sight of the fact that things could always change in the future to become more of what his heart desired but that his reality couldn't grasp. This was one of the best articles I have read to date...thank you again Lucymama! |

If only Freddie would've just said "NO".
The 70's was so notorious for drug taking. Everybody did them.... it seemed. I had a couple of friends who abused drugs and died. Look at all the singers who've died back then. Some friends I knew, literally roamed the streets all high and stuff. People were walking the streets all barefoot. With strung out hair. Beautiful people who had looks, good homes etc. They just got caught in the vicious trap. Well in my generation I think it, really started in the 60's......... (Just look at Woodstock). From there it just escalated to the 70's. I saw so many people HIGH on heroin that it scared the heck out of me. Believe me........ back then.... I had "NO" idea that Freddie was using anything. I was so naive. I remember only "ONCE" hearing in a tabloid newspaper that he used cocaine. They hid it well back then.

I read an article somewhere that was from when he was first on CATM where he talked about how kids would try to offer him drugs & he would turn them down. How a kid who refused to take drugs could wind up on pills etc is amazing & sad. If only he had continued to say NO...

I think part of the reason he killed himself was due to a broken heart over Kathy divorcing him. I have an article that was in one of the articles I bought over E-Bay & in it it talked about how when a girl would turn him down it hurt him so bad & he'd sob his eyes out.
I'm gonna put it on here if it'll turn out okay... |

Thank you Cheryl for sharing that with us. I always felt Freddie was an affectionate guy. Those who wear their heart on their sleeves do tend to get hurt a lot, but when they find that special someone, boy are they in for a great relationship. Too bad it really didn't work out for him. I still believe he needed just the right person in his life to encourage all the good inside of him to come out, instead of the other side that eventually did! |

If I waited until I got my site going to post it, ya'll might be waiting a very long time LOL! So I figured I better post it now as it gives some insight as to how he really was when his heart was broken & how loveable he really was.
![]() I remember reading somewhere where one of Freddie relatives had died. I think it might've been his Uncle Mango that he was so close to. I think Freddie was a teenager or pre-teen when this happened. He wanted to go to the funeral but his Mom thought he shouldn't since he was so sensitive & cried & upset so easily. But he begged his Mom to let him go as he'd never been to funerals much & wanted to go pay respects to his Uncle. So his Mom let him go with her. During the funeral Freddie broke down crying & sobbing hysterically all to pieces & wound up sobbing in his hanky. His mom then realized she shouldn't have let him go cuz it upset him too bad. But it was too late then so she had to comfort him. It sounds like he really loved his family. If only they had known how bad off he was... |

Thanx mucho for all your kind words. I really enjoy posting all these little treasures on hue_mee's site. I have been so blessed that she has made precious space available on her site for these. Cheryl, I wish I had the time for my own site, but I have enough to do with maintaining my website for school. It takes me 4 hours every week just to keep that one updated. And I understand about waiting till the last minute to bid. I do the same thing most of the time. I noticed a magazine not bid on because it was too high. Normally I have a $10 limit on magazines. I hope they put it back up for a lower starting price. I just won the album that Jose Feliciano recorded that has both CATM theme songs on it. I can't wait to hear that one. Another Freddie friend is biding on a magazine I wouldn't mind having, but I don't bid against my friends here if I can help it. I just hope she has access to a scanner so she can send me a copy! |
