Life After Frasier (My 10,000th post!) - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Sorry for the bragging but it's so cool to think that I've finally made it to 10,000 posts (and by the time people read this I'm sure I'll have posted a lot more!) and what better board to post on than Frasier? but I was just thinking about how cool it is that most of the cast of Frasier have gone on to be successful long after the series has ended.

As you know I'm a huge Seinfeld fan (pretty obvious with the name Schmoopie!

), and I'm very familiar with the ridiculous Seinfeld curse where people are saying that Jerry, Julia, Jason and Michael haven't been successful since the series ended. Well, with the exception of a few people, that might be the case, but I've never heard people say that about the Frasier cast members.

You've got Kelsey Grammer who won a Golden Globe for Boss, a show I've sadly yet to see but looks amazing...

DHP who seems to have been working non-stop since the show ended! Every time I look he's doing another play and how cool that he won a Tony for Curtains, not to mention his amazing performance in "The Perfect Host". Really hope he'll do another staring role in a movie some time (selfishly hoping it'll be a bit tamer than Perfect Host but that was still amazing to see!)
He's also worked with Brian Hargrove on getting "Shoulda Been You" to Broadway, which is really cool. I hope it does well!

Jane Leeves and Wendy Malick who have had huge success on "Hot In Cleveland"

I just read that Peri Gilpin got a role on another show but I can't remember which one it is...

I'm sure I left out some people so feel free to add to this!

Anyway, just thought I'd dedicate my 10,000th post to my favorite show and point out that I'm glad the cast members' talents are still appreciated by others!

First of all, congrats on the 10,00th post!! *Hugs*

Yeah, it is remarkable how the cast has managed to go on and do other things. And several of them have done guest spots on Hot in Cleveland. Not only do Jane and Wendie star, but John and Peri both made appearances (John's lasted for several episodes!).

Before Boss, Kelsey tried another sitcom w/ Back to You. I never watched that, but w/ him and Patricia Heaton (from Everybody Loves Ramond - another wonderful sitcom!), I can't imagine that it would be a bad show.

I'm sure I'm leaving out a bunch of DHP's movie roles, but I know that I'm not really the expert in that area, at least not like Andrea!

CONGRATS!

I saw an older movie called The Big Empty with Kelsey playing a small but very significant role of an FBI agent. He was fantastic. What a world-wind of characters. Funny how most of them didn't even have to audition to get the roles. And awesome how they added the role of Niles after DHP's agent approached the producers about Frasier having a brother.

Sometimes everything comes together like a dream!!!

Almost didn't want to reply to this (kinda like seeing 10,000 on my post count!) but it just means it's one post closer to 11,000! Anyway, thanks for the congrats!

Pat, I haven't seen that movie but the other night I caught Kelsey in something more recent and he was amazing in that too. Seriously though The Perfect Host is incredibly creepy (not scary, though like I thought it would be), but very funny. DHP was amazing and I am ticked that he didn't' get any recognition for it b/c I've read nothing but praise for his performance. The only thing I've seen people comment on more is his performance in "Three Valentines"!

And Kristen... thanks for the thank you! I owe a lot to this board, most importantly asking people from here to be friends on FB (some I barely knew!) because you know where that led!

Awww! I'm seriously so grateful for whatever weird twist of fate led to us "meeting" (and soon, I won't have to use quotes anymore! yay!). It's so cool to see a board like this for an older show that's still so active! Def. one of the best things about SO, IMO.

I think the show you're referring to with Peri is Make it or Break it.

It's great that the cast continues to be so successful, after their Frasier years. And that they continue to be great friends too!

Me too. I know they've tried to get DHP, but it hasn't worked because of scheduling. And Kelsey's kind of busy now too.

They need to get DHP. With that chemistry and one of the best TV romances ever, that simply must happen. I hope they try harder. And then I hope they get a storyline worthy of getting him. That's actually the part I'm most concerned about. I wouldn't want him to show up there and have it be a bad storyline.
