TV John Stamos on "Full House" Reunion

John Stamos on the Odds of a "Full House" Reunion
by Jennifer Vineyard
9/4/12

There's been some talk over the years of doing a "Full House" reunion, and then of a "Full House" remake, ŕ la "The Brady Bunch", where you'd cast other actors in the parts.

I was flattering myself to think that James Franco might play me, and Steve Carell could do the Bob Saget role. The reunion had some movement, and then it was on hold.

But I think if we're going to do anything, we should do it while we're all still looking okay. We should get together and do reunion for TV Land or something. I don't know.

It's 25 years this September since it first started airing, and no matter what I do, that's how people think of me. I've tried in the past to forget it and not be associated with it, but I've since learned to embrace it.

I hope they do it TV Land would be perfect for it. Most of the cast have openly stated in interviews before that they'd do it. Even Tahj Mowry who played Teddy said he'd love to be part of it in a recent interview. The only cast member I think they'd have any problems to get back is Mary-Kate & Ashley.

I just hope they don't decide to make a movie with other people playing the roles.

I agree I don't like the idea of remaking the show with different actors. A reunion special itself would be fun to watch to see the family as adults, possibly married with kids. I won't get my hopes up because they've been going back and forth with the idea of a reunion for years but I'd definitely tune in if it ever happened.

If they made a Reunion Movie only one of the Olsen twins would be needed.

That's true. They both quit acting though but Mary-Kate has actually acted in the past few years so maybe she'd return to do it.

It needs to be done. This is probably the most asked for reunion movie out of all the cancelled TV shows from the past.

1995-2012...that's 17 years already. Nobody is a kid anymore. They're all grown up. They all have finished college by now, if they went.

What would make a great reunion show is it could be Danny's retirement. By now, too much time has passed and had they done reunion movies in the early 2000s, they most likely would have been DJ's wedding, then Stephanie's, then Michelle's. That order throughout the 2000s would have worked perfectly, had they done 3 reunion movies in different years. DJ would have been finished college by 1999, Stephanie in 2004, and Michelle in 2008. The best times to have done the reunion movies were in several years in the 2000s.

Now, most likely, so much time has passed that all the daughters most likely are married. I sure hope if they did a reunion movie that they are happily married but problems would be there (maybe one of DJ's kids is crazy? Maybe Stephanie is having a hard time to have kids? Maybe Michelle thinks her husband is not happy with her?)...Most likely if they do a reunion, they really should have all the girls married by now but facing problems in their lives, just not as severe as we saw in "The Bradys" in 1990.

I think it'd be fun if they did something like Jesse performing on tour or a family vacation for the whole family to attend. That way it's true to the show. Michelle's still young, she can meet her soul mate in the movie and marry him. With Michelle getting married Danny could decide to leave Wake Up San Fransisco and spend time with his wife. Joey, D.J. and Stephanie could have little side storylines with their families. Nicky/Alex could be part of Jesse's story and Kimmy could be part of D.J's since I don't think it's important for them to have their own storylines.
