Default Gotta question about Ron Howard movies

Why does Ron Howard put his younger brother Clint in all his movies when Clint can't act? I remember Clint as a kid playing in "Gentle Ben" And he did an episode of Star Trek TOS but as he grew older he never learned to act well. When I watched "The Cinderella Man" for the 1st time, I told my friend who was watching it with me, "I bet you anything that Clint Howard is somewhere in this movie" And I was right, he was a Referee. Is it some promise that Ron made to his mother to put him in all his movies?

Maybe he just loves his brother and wants to give him work. Nothing wrong with that.

Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with Clint Howard's acting skills. In fact, you're the first person I've ever seen complain about him.

Cool

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Ron sees his brother Clint as a good luck charm and that's why he always finds a part for him in his movies. Ron has had a very successful career so maybe there is something to his theory!

I like Clint Howard, he's even enjoyable outside his brother's movies. One of my favorites of his is Evilspeak- he was brilliant as the outcast military academy student who gets revenge on a group of bullies.

Okay let me rephrase that. IMO he is not a good actor.

That's kind of a joke with the sis and I - OK, where in Ron's new movie is Clint going to show up??

I think it's great that the two brothers get along so well. There are a number of celebrity relatives who can learn a thing or two about that!!!

He does an adequate job for the types of characters he portrays. We know he isn't lead actor material but he's a very good supporting actor.

When you say Clint, it sure aint Eastwood, but he does a decent job with the characters he has to play. And kudos to Ron for giving his younger brother a chance to make some dough. I'd do the same thing for my brother if I was Ron.

That's very true. Look at Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight. Then there is Jennifer Jason Leigh and Vic Morrow. She was his daughter, but when he left her mother she changed her last name so she wouldn't be associated to him. Then he was killed doing the Twilight Zone Movie and she was first in line to sue over his death. I don't know this for sure, but I heard that Julia Roberts and Eric Roberts are siblings but they don't seem to have anything to do with each other.

I haven't really seen much of Clint Howard as an adult actor but I think he was a great child actor. Gentle Ben was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid.

Exactly! The Ice Cream man movie is a good example of that.

Angelina and Jon Voight were two that came to mind. Also, the Roberts siblings, but I think in recent years, they have reconciled.
