Default TV's Most Dynamic Duos on TONIGHT - Discussion

Discuss here on if you agree or disagree with the Paley Center for Media and Nielsen Media on their list of TV's Most Dynamic Duos (airing tonight at 9|8c on ABC hosted by Robin Roberts).

"Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts hosts a two-hour countdown of couples who have graced television with their amazing chemistry, hilarity, friendship and, in many cases, sexual tension. Whether it's Johnny Carson and Ed McMahon, Laverne and Shirley, Tony and Carmela Soprano, Homer and Bart Simpson, Mulder and Scully or Lucy and Ethel, there is no shortage of indelible duos on television. Who will be No. 1? Find out on "TV's Most Dynamic Duos: Presented by The Paley Center for Media," airing SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 2 (9:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

This couples cavalcade includes all-new reminiscences by some of television's most beloved actors and personalities including Megan Mullally, Edie Falco, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger, Cindy Williams, Penny Marshall, Garry Marshall (creator of "Happy Days," "Laverne & Shirley"), Nancy Cartwright (voice of Bart Simpson), Ed Asner, Vanna White, Penn & Teller, Chris Hardwick, Tom Smothers, Adam Carolla, Tom Bergeron and Brooke Burke-Charvet.

The 30 duos were selected by a poll conducted by Nielsen Media Research.

I enjoyed the show and saw many of my favorites like Richie and Fonzie, Ralph & Alice and Felix and Oscar and but how was Laverne and shirley not rated higher and worse how were Lucy & Ethel not number #1 ??

It was a good list compiled by Paley and Nielsen. I think they just needed Batman and Robin in there to complete it.

* Bert and Ernie ("Sesame Street")

Well, another wonderful milestone. I suppose that since Disney doesn't own a TVLand-type cable channel, they figured they'd bring a phony "countdown" special to broadcast TV.
Anyway, I kinda thought they wouldn't mention Electra-Woman & Dyna-Girl.

Huh? Paley Center for Media does a special like this annually on all broadcast networks.

I watched most of it. I thought it was good. I dont know if I would put Jerry and George number 1 even though I love Seinfeld. I would put Lucy/Ethel number 1. They were really the first duo in tv history. I loved the fact they put Beavis and Butthead and Bart and Homer Simpson in the group. That was pretty cool. I kind of thought Archie and Meathead should have been higher. I'm a little surprised that Ross and Rachel from friends didnt make it. I mean they were a pretty hot couple on Friends and when they got together on Friends it seemed like everybody was talking about it.

Considering that they were often referred to as the dynamic duo, this was a major oversight.

Modern Family is on the list? Really? It's a great show and all, but to be on this list?!

I saw the first hour of the Dynamic Duos special and was underwhelmed. I switched over to WKRP at 10:00, it was much better.
