Default Cancellations of the 2012-13 season

This thread is about cancellations and endings during the 2012-13 TV season. Early predictions can be based on which shows will be ending, which premiered to mediocre (or abysmal) ratings, and which shows anyone can't possibly imagine doing well.

These four shows are confirmed to end their run during this season:

Fringe (FOX) - 5 seasons

Gossip Girl (CW) - 6 seasons

The Office (NBC) - 9 seasons

30 Rock (NBC) - 7 seasons

I think early cancellations among new fall shows will be:

Animal Practice (NBC)
The Neighbors (ABC)
The Mob Doctor (FOX)
Made in Jersey (CBS)

Obviously there will be many more but I don't see these ones making it past the first 13.

I also could see this being the final year for:
CSI: NY (CBS)
Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 (ABC)
Body of Proof (ABC)
Private Practice (ABC)
Rules of Engagement (CBS)
Glee (FOX)

I don't see Apt23 lasting through the entire season even though I like the show

This could be the last season of Law and Order SVU. I hope not. But, it could be.

Also. I don't see Go On making it for too long. Matthew Perry's shows are normally doomed to fail. (He's had nothing make it too long except Friends)

I don't think ABC's 666 Park Avenue will last either even though it's going to air the same night opposite Once Upon a Time. Horror themed shows just aren't attracting mainstream viewers, and the title alone has already caused a negative reaction from some of the radical religious special interest groups. Hopefully ABC will give it a chance. We need some genre shows on the air that aren't strictly sci-fi and cop dramas.

666 isn't all-horror like say The River. 666 is a mix of sci-fi/supernatural, horror, and soap. Really fits well out of Once/Revenge.

This fall has a pretty bad crop.

I think these fall series will all be cancelled:
666 Park Avenue
Last Resort
The Neighbors
Made in Jersey
Emily Owens, M.D.
Ben and Kate
The Mob Doctor
Animal Practice
Guys with Kids
The New Normal
Revolution

Have you seen any? I don't think log-lines alone are a way of judging. I've seen all the pilots now. The dramas are mostly very good. 666, Last Resort, Nashville, Vegas, and the Fox mid-season drama The Following are top-notch. Comedies probably just Go On from fall (Animal Practice is the only real awful one, rest are OK) and I like both Family Tools and How To Live With Your Parents for mid-season.

I have a hard time believing Animal Practice is the only really bad sitcom when The Neighbors is one of the new shows. In fact, most things I've read/watched seem to point to The Neighbors and Partners as the two worst sitcoms (not defending Animal Practice, which was terrible as well). I haven't seen any except Go On and Animal Practice but I'm not sure how The Neighbors can be much if any better than Animal Practice. It looks like one of the worst shows ever.

Overall, I feel like the comedies are lame this year though I did like the Go On preview. The only ones that look remotely appealing to me besides that are The Mindy Project and Ben & Kate, and that's including midseason comedies.

I'm excited about a lot of dramas though (but it will be hard to top last year which had two of my favorites (Revenge & Person of Interest) premiere. Still, I think Nashville, 666 Park Avenue, Elementary, Vegas, and Last Resort all look promising as well as midseason's The Following and Hannibal

I have yet to watch any, but these are still my guesses.

666 Park Avenue may be a good series, but its too out there for an audience. Plus it's going against the toughest hour of football, and with a 2.6 lead in from Revenge, it has to do well.

Last Resort has no chance whatsoever. I'm going to try out the series, but ABC hasn't had any luck in the timeslot. Plus the series is geared towards males, which is a target audience ABC doesn't go after. When you go away from your target audience, it barely works.

The Neighbors looks like the worst sitcom in years. No way.

Made in Jersey will get to air all 13 episodes, but beyond that, it's gone. CBS may have a solid Friday night lineup, but new series haven't done well on the night.

Emily Owens, M.D. is the odd man out of the CW groupings. All the other new shows should do solid, but this one won't. Plus the CW has two new midseason offers, with one still needing a timeslot.

Ben and Kate has way too much competition, and Raising Hope isn't a solid lead in.

The Mob Doctor won't do well either. Bones was in the 2.0 demo range last season, so it doesn't get much of a lead in. Also working against The Mob Doctor is the tough competition.

Animal Practice didn't do too well with its special airing, so I'm not sure how it could do well in its regular timeslot.

Guys with Kids looks funny, but nothing on NBC is like it (with the exception of Whitney). The timeslot is a tough one too.

The New Normal just looks awful.

Revolution-esque series have been tried numerous times, and they never work. What makes this one any different?

Yea I'm going to give those dramas a chance. They all look pretty good but with my luck, they'll all flop. lol Ben and Kate is the only sitcom that to me looks any good. I didn't care for Go On and I didn't watch Animal Practice.
