Question Are We Killing the Board??

Greetings FOL'ers...

I have been coming on this site for over a year. I have virtually always enjoyed it, except for a few months when I became aggravated with the repetition of posts and such. However, I just said "screw it," and came back on. Of course, it didn't hurt that FOL was going strong on Nick@Nite, Lisa was on her tour, and the reunion movie was coming up.

However, I'm noticing now that the majority of the posts seem to be posted just because. Since things have quieted down for FOL (except Lisa's tour of the US), nothing is really going on with the show. It's not being viewed at the time and the reunion movie has been seen (by many repeatedly).

I'm not saying to give up posting. However, what else is left to post? Several of the things I've seen could be communicated over email, since they tend to be almost conversational between just a few people. Other posts (favorite season, why I like____, did you know) all seem to have been repeated multiple times.

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else feels this way -- that we're just posting to post, with no real new news to share. And if you do, why are we doing it????

Keep in mind --- this is not *against* FOL. I still watch my Fandemonium tapes at night. I have seen the movie about 15 times. But yet, I don't want to get so beat down with it that I lose interest. New stuff is interesting, old stuff just sits there...

I'm open for comment. Just please be nice and don't me.

Yes, there are many repetitive posts, but there are also many newcomers that haven't replied to such posts. soo....

By the way, there is ALWAYS something to say about Facts of Life-according to my book, but it depends.

I've realized that traffic has been slow ever since after the Reunion and N@N took FOL off-air, but it doesn't mean that there is nothing to talk about.

Don;t mind me, I'm not really making sense here.

Default The FOL is my life

I'm ALWAYS thinking about the Facts of Life. Even when it wasn't on NBC, or USA, or N@N, I always thought about it. There's always something new to think about with it.

I agree with you to a point, Jayman. The post are becoming repetitive and the boards have slowed down alot ever since all things FOL have gone off the air.
However, I find nothing wrong with the fact that posts are repetitive and some posts are for conversation only. At least people are still posting at the FOL board, wheras a majority of the other boards are....incredibly unactive to say the least. People have made good friends on this board, so it's cool that we can all come and talk, whether it be FOL related or not. I'm thankful for FOL and the FOL board!

Here's the thing though... couldn't a lot of this stuff be put on the chit-chat board? I see repeated posts about "Please read!!!" and "Important!!!" but they just relate to personal subjects (most of the time). I'd rather see posts that relate to posts from a year or so ago. The new people should read through the old posts to find opinions and thoughts.

As for the inactivity on the other boards, we should all try to work on that. If you (not KS specifically, but any reader of my thoughts) would go to other posts and put up something, it might increase the interest there as well. I know many people do that already, so I'm not making accusations. However, does *everyone* do it? I dunno....

Like I said, I'm just commenting. I know things have slowed down, but when I come on here I don't always want to read repetitive posts. I wish, as I said, that the conversational stuff could be kept more to email or to the chit-chat board.

Don't me again, I'm just trying to help all of us sort through 30 thousand + posts.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from, Jayman. Alot of the posts that cause a rucus could be done away with.
I really miss the nightly conversations about eps and the little weird things that people would notice about every particular episode.

I just miss FOL being on TV nightly...

Oh yeah, I love your avator. It's so cool-Nat rocks

Pleeeease don't get mad at me for saying
this, but IMO this board is kind of dying
down. This part might sound mean and I do
apologize, but each time I come here it's
the same old thing. There hasn't been new
topics lately. I would say that we have
discussed everything we know about FOL.
If anyone can prove me wrong, throw out
some good suggestions/ideas that involve
FOL. JMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know if there is anything else to discuss. I mean, we've seen as many shows as we're going to see right now. We've analyzed each season more than a college thesis paper. What else is left?

There's nothing wrong with slowing down on here... I mean, it's not like we have any competition in the race. I think we should all try and help get interest in other boards... whatever shows they might be. That way, interest would grow more and improve the whole board.

As for the suggestion on new topics... I dunno. Does anyone else have anything?
