Music This isn't the worst song of all time, but it's certainly the dumbest.

And, like the group America, the band that recorded this song is one of the dumbest acts of the seventies.

Who and what song am I talking about? Click on the link to find out!

Great tune, I like it! 'Fire' was also a good tune by The Ohio Players in the mid 70s.

This was a great song. It was a fun song; as in fun to sing and fun to hear. I like it a lot.

i personally like "Love Rollercoaster" - I don't see how you could call it "the dumbest" with all of the ridiculously repetitive dance music, especially from the 90's out there - like "Barbie Girl", or "I'm Too Sexy", or "Macarena"

plus they are from Dayton.

Because the lead singer of the Ohio Players is inadvertantly trying to do a Lewon Redbone impression? Because lines like "Say-a-what?," "Roller coast on down," and "HIGH! HIGH! HIGH NOW!" are nonsensical and make less sense in context? Because I think I hear a horse neighing in the instrumental break? Because '90s dance music is too bland to be annoying?

Some would say "Disco Duck" was dumber, but at least Rick Dees had some actual verses to "sing." And Donald Duck singing "Got to have you, Mama" is actually quite hilarious!

Say-a-what?

They also gave us "Muskrat Love" before Captain and Tennille recorded a 3rd version of that dreck. That and "A Horse With No Name" doesn't help their resume any.

They gave us 11 Top 40 hits, 7 top 10 hits and 2 number 1's, A Horse With No Name and Sister Golden Hair. Ill take their resume over any of that sissy disco music any day, Sparky.

The only songs America recorded that I can listen to are "Lonely People" and "You Can Do Magic". If I never hear "A Horse With No Name" or "Sister Goldenhair" again it will be fine with me.

Sparky?

I actually like the sissy disco music as you call it although not necessarily for the music itself but for the value of some of the 12" singles released during that era. Show me any record released by America that can fetch $200 or more.

Love Rollercoaster isn't my favorite song, I prefer Fire myself. But compared to Country Girl, Something 'Bout a Truck, Red Solo Cup and any of those horrid goofy country songs that passes for music these days, I'll listen to LC on an endless loop.

And America? Love them. Sandman is probably one of their greatest songs. And that sassy disco music, a lot of it is gorgeous, fun to listen to, and highly sought after.

If I could make money like that, yes I would buy some disco music to sell, but I would never listen to it. Id take America and The Ohio Players any day over that crap.
