Default A funny mistake on one of the episodes...

On the episode where they find the movie equipment and make a movie of there shipwreck... Towards the end of it in the movie it shows there island from far away and they say something like

Skipper: Hey, Isnt that our island?
Professor: Yes and if any sailor recognizes it, they will be able to rescue us!

(Something like that)

Well how would they have got those pictures of the island from way out there if they were stuck on the island?

Yeah,I thought about that question too.
That and if practically EVERYONE else could find their way TO
the island how come the Castaways were never able to find
a way to get OFF the island?

Maybe we are supposed to assume they put together one of their little bamboo rafts and went out to sea to film that shot. That, of course, would be extremely difficult in the waves and currents. But logical questions concerning Gilligan's Island only emphasize the silliness, so they are useless.

As for the visitors on the island, it is usually made to appear they just stumbled onto it when they were lost or they were looking for some unknown island to get away. And all the castaways were in need of was a means of getting away. And when they had such a means some silly event had to happen to take it away from them, or that was the end of the show.

In the ep about the movie equipment they found and used, and which was later retrieved from a raft [heard on their radio, of course], did it never occur to them to include a note about their position and their need? But then, there was no need for their movie and nothing to the ep. No absurd events; no show. It's really that simple.

You know what I always wondered about that episode. Why did they make that whole movie thing? Why didn't theyy just write a note that said "Help were a stuck on an island!"? Well I know that wouldn't have been a very intersting episode but it would have given them a better chance of being rescued.

Default It's just a tv's show!!!

Hi,everyone!

I think you guys don't understand the first meaning of the show.
It's not about how to be rescue from an island. It's about how diffrent people from diffrent back ground who are stranded are learning to get along with each other. The concept of rescue is really secondary

Default Talking about mistake!!!

At the end of the ep:Chains command, when Gilligan fall off the cliff he's wearing the skipper's hat but, when we see him in the other scene, hanging on a branch,he's wearing his hat

(I think they took the same scene from Manual labors(the Howells are broke). It end the same way,Gilligan fall off the cliff and hang on a branch)and he's still wearing his hat!

In one episode Lovey knows how to cook food just fine and in a later ep when Thurston temporarily goes broke she learns to cook for the "first time"! The air of this show is thick with uneven elements and finding them is fun!

I don't think this was a mistake at all. Sherwood Schwartz is far too intelligent to let something like that slip by. And I'm sure the actors and everyone else would have noticed too. They probably put that scene in the show to make the concept even more hillarious and silly.

there are so many inconsistencies and bloopers.....it would be a very long reply if i typed them all out. they are a lot of fun to find, especially to people like us who just find them and laugh...not be critical. too often people forget that it's a show about silliness and they start asking questions. no questions should be asked. lol!

i noticed that island picture thing too.....i was also wondering how they filmed the island if they're ON the island. i guess the world will never know just how they did it.

oh, and...the reason that they didn't just write a note.....the reason that the movie absolutely, totally, completely, no doubt about it NEEDED to be made was (to me) for one simple reason. so the professor and ginger could kiss. that was beautiful. hee hee. i love the look on ginger's face when they're watching the movie and they see that scene. mary ann is all shocked and ginger just has this little smile.....LOL! the professor looks completely confused or something.....like he's thinking "i did that?"

My favorite part of that scene:

"How'd you learn to hold your breath so long?"
Prof: "I used to be a scuba diver."

**falls over laughing** I don't know why that struck me as so funny.... hehe

i know! it's so funny! he just says it so matter-of-factly. "i used to be a scuba diver." and then mr. howell replies with "are you sure it wasn't siphoning gasoline during the war?" ROFLOL!!!!! that sounds to me like an ad lib. and where he's like "you shouldn't watch this lovey! it's really for adults!"

that whole movie watching scene is so funny.....it's gotta be one of the best of them all together.
