Had no idea that "Jerry" guest starred on Sanford and Son

I was watching a old tape last night with Sanford and Son and Jerry played a doctor at a hospital who was telling Lamont that Fred had Amensia


I guess this stood out because I became a fan of the Bob Newhart Show in 2011

I see that when he appeared on Sanford and Son, the Bob Newhart show had not started yet. I was wondering was he appearing on the show while starring on TBNS

His episode of Sanford and Son aired in March 72 and Bob Newhart started in September 72 so it was from the season before

Peter also guest starred in the Friends season 3 episode "TOW the Screamer."
