Default The Evans family was illegally living in the projects

The Evans family of 5 was illegally living in a 2 bedroom apartment in the projects low income housing and to add to that, when Keith married Thelma and moved in was that reported? So that means that the Christian woman Florida, head of the household, could NOT or was NOT telling the truth about how many applicants will be residing in a 2 bedroom apartment when James was on the show. Remember when Keith moved in, I am sure he was NOT added to the housing application and the income could NOT have been reported; because everybody in the Evans (5) family members living in the 2 bedroom apartment was working during the last season of Good Times...

I don't think that they were illegally living in the housing projects. Things were different back then, same rules that applies now didn't apply back then. Also Alderman Davis was in charge of housing and he's the one who got the Evans that apartment. When Keith and Thelma got married Davis also knew that Keith was living there as well. The Evans probably weren't on housing, the project could have gone by their income to determine their rent, So Flo could have easily added Keith to their lease.

While in college I worked with Public Housing. I believe every state has different rules/laws when it comes to Occupancy Requirements. The laws aren't that strict especially when it comes to a Mother,Father and their three children. You can have five people legally living in a 2 bedroom apartment as long as the square footage is adequate.

Well, as you can see in the Evans household, 5 people living in that 2 bedroom apartment square footage, definately is NOT legal to rent.

As long as it was over 600sq ft it was, Their apartment was bigger than a real housing project apartment. And it was easily over 600 sq ft.
