Exclamation Elton John Blasts Madonna: "Her Career is Over"

Elton John Calls Madonna a "Fairground Stripper", Says "Her Career Is Over"
8/6/2012
by Philiana Ng

Elton John is at it again.

The singer made his opinions about former friend Madonna known in an interview with Australia's Channel 7 program Sunday Night, declaring that her career was "over."

"She’s such a nightmare. Her career is over, I can tell you that," John said. "Her tour is a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c---."

Madonna, who is in the middle of her MDNA world tour, was booed at a July 26 concert in Paris during which she performed for approximately 45 minutes.

John, who has been feuding with Madonna for years, went even further with his jabs -- going so far as criticizing her physical appearance.

"If Madonna had any common sense, she would have made a record like Ray of Light, stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and made great pop records, which she does brilliantly," said John, who praised Rihanna and Katy Perry.

"But no, she had to prove that she was like ...," he continued, not specifying. "And she looks like a f---ing fairground stripper."

John also said that Madonna, who called Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' "reductive" earlier this year in an ABC News interview, has "been so horrible to Gaga."

Lady Gaga is godmother to one of John's sons.

This isn't the first time John has let his criticisms of Madonna known.

Following this year's Golden Globes when Madonna won for best original song, John and partner David Furnish took to Facebook to slam the win.

"Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism," Furnish wrote at the time.

He later backtracked on his statements.

Well, ME-OWWWWW...

I dunno. It just seems like at a certain point it becomes fashionable to really start pounding on certain celebrities. At one point it was Britney Spears, then it was Lindsay Lohan, now it seems to be Madonna. It's just like everyone decides at the same time "let's really get 'so and so'". Very much a pack mentality...they surround their victim when they are weak, and at the first smell of blood they all pounce.

I have no particular love for Madonna. She seems somewhat vain and pretentious (then again what musical star isn't?), but I do like her voice and think she's a wonderful showman (showperson?). I really enjoyed her eighties and early 90's work, too. I know it's not "cool" for a guy to say he likes that type of music, but if it's good, it's good.

As for Elton John, well, his own career isn't exactly white hot right now, either. I like a lot of his stuff, too, but this type of public dissing is really embarrassing and does nothing to elevate his own imperfect persona in my mind.

Madonna's able to evolve with the changes in pop music and can still draw audiences so her career isn't definitely over just yet. However, her insistence on making political statements during her concerts are annoying. When you're up there dancing and singing dance music, I don't think that's the right time to talk about your political leanings.

But I do think she's more talented and her songs are better than Katy Perry and Rihanna, who Elton John does like. The latter try too hard to prove they can sing, whereas it seems Madonna knows she doesn't have a strong voice and makes her music to suit it.

Elton John is in no position to criticize any other artist. He is no more than a shell of his former self. He has been operating on the fumes of his pre 1985 hits. He has no chance of ever making a comeback to even half the level he once was. His voice has suffered immesurably since his throat operation 10 years ago and he is stuck singing in a monotone baratone for all of his songs. Oh how I miss the incredible falsetto he breezily sang on more than half of his early hits.

I can't believe this is still going on! I mean, I love Elton John and I love Madonna as well. Both are extremely talented and this feuding is getting very old!

Madonna Forgives Elton John for 'Fairground Stripper' Comments
But listen closely, and the peace offering is double-edged.
8/23/2012
by Seth Abramovitch

Madonna has announced that she's ready to bury the hatchet with Elton John -- but she's done it in a passive-aggressive way.

The pop titans' decade-long feud reached new heights -- or depths -- in a recent interview on Australian TV, when John said of the Material Girl's new album and world tour, "She’s such a nightmare. Her career is over, I can tell you that. Her tour is a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c---."

For good measure, John added, "And she looks like a f---ing fairground stripper."

But the spirit of forgiveness apparently took over Madonna at a concert Tuesday night in Nice, France. Sort of.

"I'd like to dedicate this next song to a Mr. Elton John," she told the crowd. "I know he's a big fan of it, and I know he's a big fan of mine. And you know what? I forgive him. Gotta start somewhere."

The catch: The song she launched into was 'Masterpiece', a composition from her directorial debut W.E., which beat out John's 'Hello Hello', from Gnomeo & Juliet, for Best Original Song at January's Golden Globes.

It was that defeat that led John's husband, David Furnish, to bitterly write on Facebook, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism."

He later deleted the comments, and called the ensuing controversy "a tempest in a teapot."

Madonna is a talentless phony, and anyone who points that out does so at their own risk, because Madonna's brainwashed fans are merciless in bashing anyone who criticizes their idol. That's what's allowed her to remain a teenybopper pop star well in to her fifties. She is a piece of scum. She is pure evil. She ruined American popular music for generations. Don't start bashing me, Madgephiles, because I am not subscribing to this thread and therefore I will not read any of your nasty comments! So - there!

^ Well, that's an interesting tactic. Throw some verbal Molotov cocktails into a room and then go run and hide.

To those who DO subscribe to this thread, I'd advocate moderation and balance in our comments. "Pure evil"? "A piece of scum"? I'm sure this is coming from somewhere who knows her intimately...

Why would you criticize her like that and then skip town? If you believe what you say then stick around and reply to the alleged nasty comments as you call them which so far haven't been anywhere near as nasty as the one you posted.

Oh No

Madonna and Elton John are both past their primes, the last song Madonna really had that was really good was "Beautiful Stranger" and Elton John's last song that was really good was "I want Love", but Elton John also had a duet with Leon Russel...which was cool!
