Default Sit-com Reboots

The Munsters, The Flintstones, Bewitched now, The Brady Bunch. Thumbs up or down??

I wish they'd just leave them alone.

I don't mind adventure series like Hawaii 5-0, getting rebooted. This worked! Although Charlie's Angels bombed!

Thumbs down. For many of us these were classics of a bygone more innocent time. Most don't remember these originals and I expect sexed-up, politically correct remakes. It is like they keep trying to remake "The Rockford Files" without James Garner and those classic stories it just won't work with anyone who saw the original.

Well, you have to differentiate --a reboot as in revival of the original series, continuation with the same (or most of the same) cast members... or out and out REMAKE. Some revivals have worked and some remakes have too, but mostly they just STINK...Munsters Today anyone? I dread what CBS is going to come up with on Bewitched.

The Flintstones remake at FOX is dead, as stated at FOX's TCA session.

My guess is The Brady Bunch won't go forward at CBS.

They keep trying to bring back the shows that were hits back in the day .....just won't work and they won't make new shows like many of us many of loved and still love, they say shows that worked back then won't make it now so why do they keep trying to bring back that type of show? Why are they so popular with today, Even with young audiences? Those of us that grew up with those shows will never accept the remakes with new stars and all the changes.
JMHO but if I was head of CBS or one of the other networks I would take a look at the shows that were HITS and lasted so long and try to learn from it and attempt to create a new show and test it out. They won't admit it but there are enough families that want that. There are literally millions of people that are sick of the reality and other crap that don't even watch TV anymore or canceled all pay TV.

By the way I am not saying I want all the reality and other stuff gone even though I don't watch it. I know there are people who like it but there needs to be balance. I also know a lot of people say family shows are on ABC family etc....but many of us don't like those shows and even my son and daughter don't allow their children to watch most of it.

revivals - maybe, reboots - no way,

they seem to fare much better just ripping off the ideas, characters, and plots of the classic shows.

Well said.-They have taken so many of the older shows off the air,in effect trying to say or imply that people do not want to view older tv programs anymore, yet they keep trying to remake some of them. The older/classic shows are just as popular as they always have been in my opinion, and it would not surprise me if channels like Me-TV and Antenna-TV etc. are getting more viewers than most other channels.
