TV David Denman Returning to "The Office"

"The Office" Scoop: David Denman to Return in Season 9
Aug 3, 2012
by Natalie Abrams

David Denman will be returning to "The Office" in the upcoming ninth season, TVLine.com reports.

Denman will reprise his role as Roy, Pam's (Jenna Fisher) former fiancé who used to butt heads with Jim (John Krasinski) and was eventually fired. Denman is set to appear in the second episode of the season.

Denman hasn't regularly appeared at Dunder Mifflin since Season 3. Since then, he's appeared in Fox's short-lived comedy "Traffic Light" and Lifetime's "Drop Dead Diva".

"The Office" returns Thursday, Sept. 20 at 9/8c on NBC.

I think to only add drama. Why else would he be on the show? I can't see where he would fit

Maybe he needs a job again. He might come by to visit Darryl and ask him to talk to the new fore-woman Val about getting his old warehouse job back. Other than that, I agree that there really insn't a place for him.

^^^ That could be. Even if he doesn't get his old warehouse job back, he might visit the office more often since Darryl there was his best friend at Dunder Mifflin. Or maybe Roy will start dating someone there, but I can't think of any women who are unattached. Who knows?!

Merideth is

But I do remember the "Fire Guy" episode where the gang is outside playing "Desert Island" and the question is "Who would you do..." Roy was there, and he did pick Angela. I think he referred to her as "that short, religious girl with the tight ass..."

Me too and it will be interested to see how he's portrayed after such a long hiatus from the show.

Jim was very scared. You could see it on his face. If Dwight wasn't there to save the day, I think Roy would have really pounded on Jim.

Yes, Jim was a lot like Jack Tripper....loveable, sensetive and not a fighter! I suppose Roy is lucky that Jim didn't want to press charges.
