Confused SHOUT, BRING ON 5 & 6, please?

Oop, I meant the heading to say Seasons 4 & 5, not 5 & 6, sorry.

I don't know about you, but I'm beginning to worry about the commercial release of Seasons 4 & 5. It's been a while since Season 3 was released and nothing has been heard from Shout since. 2 & 3 came out within a couple months of each other. Now nothing. I hope all the overly negative comments posted on the old Shout message board did not change the mind of Shout to release the rest. As I've said, I have not seen the UNCUT Hazel's since they were originally on the air, and I was just a little kid & don't even remember them anymore. The Shout releases, even if they aren't restored and as beautiful looking as Bewitched and Gidget that came straight from Columbia vaults, these Shout releases are the only way we'll ever be able to see uncut episodes. That alone is reason to keep hoping Shout will continue their releases. Come on Shout, I'm ready for 4 & 5 RIGHT NOW.

Default Hazel seasons 4 & 5

I couldn't agree more. I am so ready for season four. No word from Shout yet. Even though their "community" section is down right now, people can still contact them via email if you click on the "contact us" link on their website. I did and requested season 4. I hope that a lot of you will do so also.

I particularly want season four because it's the last one with George and Dorothy and I prefer them to Steve and Barbara.

Finally got Antenna TV today and they were playing Season 5 episodes--oh my--what a contrast! But hopefully Season 4 is soon in the wings at Shout! I think people are a little too critical over minor issues--me included.

Since there were problems with season 3 having two edited episodes, I'll buy seasons 4 and 5 only if all the episodes are complete. Any edited episodes will be no sale for me.

When recently asked about S4, Shout replied on their Facebook page they "haven't announced that title yet, but check our Facebook page for updates", which means they must plan on releasing it, because other inquires re. Archie Bunker's Place, etc. they replied that there "are no plans at this time".

Great news, I'll be happy to buy them even if one or 2 are edited. 99% unedited is certainly better than nothing at all. But rather than think the worse, let's hope they'll all be unedited. I'll be happy to get these as Hazel is one of my all time favorite shows.

Even slightly edited is better than no Hazel at all....as time go by, these older classic shows will have less and less chance of being broadcast much less see releases.

That might be true, but I'm still miffed with Shout Factory for putting two edited episodes on the 3rd season DVD. With a little extra effort I think they could have obtained the complete episodes, instead they took the lazy route, used the edited versions and put a disclaimer on back of the DVD case. If the 4th & 5th season DVD's come out, I'll just wait and read reviews about them before I decide to order.

Maybe that's why its taking them longer to get season 4 out. They want to do it RIGHT! For some reason, Dennis the Menace seasons 1-4, came out one after the other: boom-boom-boom-boom! There must be more involved with Hazel . I hope they take all the time they need to get the best result!

And, while I'm happy to have gotten what's been released so far and I will buy Seasons 4 & 5 when (if?) they come out, I do wish they had access to the same Columbia vaults that held Gidget & Bewitched. Those shows put out on DVD by Sony looked just about perfect, wonderful color, clear picture, looked like it was shot yesterday instead of almost 50 years ago. Why won't Sony allow Shout access to the mint condition prints of Hazel? I'm sure they exist, just as sure as the mint condition Bewitched & Dream of Jeanies exist. Mannix, another series that looks absolutely perfect, it comes straight from the Paramount vaults, mint condition, beautiful perfect prints. I'm sure mint condition Hazel's exist deep in Columbia's vaults, they should allow Shout access.

Shout's Kojak releases appear to come straight from Universal vaults as they are also perfect looking. Better than I've seen them look in years.

^ one exception--Season 5 of Bewitched is HORRIBLE looking. Sony did not bother to remaster these episodes at all--they are faded and do not have the crisp color sharpness of say, Season 3.

Somebody asked about this on Shouts! Facebook Page. The reply was we should be hearing about season 4 soon! It also implied season 5 will also eventually be released!

Good news! I'm sure the added exposure of daily Hazel reruns on Antenna TV has attracted more interest in dvd sales.

Yes, and I'm so glad Antenna TV is now showing Hazel when kids and regular folk are around to see it. Showing Hazel at 3 am as Antenna did for a while was ridiculous. Who did they think was watching? Hazel at 3 am does nothing at all to expand the Hazel fan base, now with daytime airings kids and others who may never have heard of Hazel will get a chance to see what they've been missing! Unless a show is seen it can't gain any popularity.
