Be careful asking questions - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

I used to go to the library to get information on things I was working on,But now I just look it up on the Internet like most people do these days. I fixed my furnace,Dryer,completely rebuilt my attic fan by getting information from these " How To " websites and videos. I was having problems installing a fuel pump on my engine ( couldn't keep the pushrod still ) so I found one of these sites where a mechanic would give me a few tips. It didn't take long to get ahold of one, he asked for my name,e-mail address and what the problem was. After I filled that out I got another form to fill out, this one started with; How do you wish to pay the 30.00 ? I thought, " forget this " And tried to get off the site but I couldn't. The mechanic kept saying he was ready to answer my question. I kept clicking that red X to get the Hell off of there,Finally this fish was able to wiggle off their hook. You would think they would have mentioned a fee at the beginning. Has anybody actually paid one of these sites 30.00 bucks to ask a question ?

Yes, i am leary of going too far for I figure somewhere along the path, I will be ask to pay. I don't object to say $5.00 charge say to answer a question I may have asked about Antiques I have, but not seeing where the question will lead, I quit early a lot. Occasionally I will inquire about college courses, give them my phone number which I really don't want to do for it leads to a phone call. I prefer they send me info by mail. Sure enough I get a call from a person calling with an accent that too strong for me and hear a background that sounds like a restaurant kitchen. So much noise and I tell them I can't listen with so much commotion. Why is it so noisy, I wonder. For all I know the call is coming from the black hole of Calcutta.
