Default Somtimes I Feel So Ashamed Of My Generation

For example, lets start off with the kids that bullied the bus monitor. Thats a little younger than my generation, but its very embarrasing. Maybe I was raised differently, but if I did something like that, I would have gotten punished for it. Plus I have been in the boat of being made fun of. So I defeniteley would NOT have talked to that lady that way. I know what its like to be made fun of, its not fun.
Alot of my co-workers are 20 somethings. Alot of them admitted they are on dope. (Once again, maybe I was raised differently, but I dont believe in that crap.) Alot of them wine and throw a temper when they have to work a little extra hard at work. When you turn around, most of them are on their cell phones REPEATEDLY texting when they are supposed to be working. Alot of them are interested in nothing but getting high and partying.
Then we have all these news stories of kids bringing guns to school and shooting them off. (Columbine 1999) comes to mind.
In the last few years, we have had kids being bullied so badly that they are commiting suicide. They are supposed to be enjoying life, family and friends at this age, not tying a rope around their neck or shooting themselves.
So many of kids from my generation are becoming parents at 14 15 years of age, then draining the hard working taxpayers of money.
I think thats why I always got along better with adults in their 40s on up because I feel I can have an intelligent conversation with someone in that age bracket.

I hear ya bud! I am ashamed of all human kind at times. The things that some people do in this world completely baffles the mind. But you just got to let your light shine before men so that they will glorify your Father in heaven. In other words be the best person you can be. Try and make this world a better place with every opportunity you get. Hope it rubs off on others around you. If it doesn't just pray for them and always remember God is with us in our struggles here on earth and there are a lot of good people in this world too. Not just crap stains on the under wear of life.

My big beef is the way people present themselves anymore - the way they dress, the way they talk. Riding public transportation lately, I see ALOT of that. How about talking normal instead of being a stereotype? Do you think you're cool talking that way? They only sound like morons. And how about pulling your pants up, instead of dragging the halfway pass your a$$ so we all can see your underwear. NOBODY wants to see that. How about being a real man for once in your life?? Because it's always the men who wear their pants that way. And as for the women, STOP getting pregnant so you can live off gov't assistance for a few years. Get off your lazy BACK and actually go out a get a job!!!!

I saw a lady yesterday, she had 4 kids. I hate to make assumptions, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was on WIC or something like that. I don't have a problem with somebody needing help once in a while, but I'm told that what happens is a woman has a baby, she get assistance, then when that child nears 5 years old, she loses that assistance, so she goes and gets pregnant again so she can keep getting assistance. I don't work 60-70 hrs a week and my sis doesn't work 2 jobs so we can keep supporting these lazy good-for-nothings!!! Start earning your keep!!!

When I went to high school, I had a VERY hard time fitting in. I dont smoke, I dont do drugs, and I have a beer or two RARELY. I think thats why I get along with adults more because for some reason, I can relate to them better and have more intelligent conversation than my generation. As I said in a earlier post, I work with a bunch of 20 somethings (I am 25). ALOT of them will admit to you they smoke weed or do some sort of other drug. There are quite a few there that always act spaced out. I have family members in their 20's who I dont really respect because the way they act.

There are so many people who don't have jobs and live off of government handouts. It's wrong. We have to work so those people don't have to. And then when these people get their checks from the goverment they spend it on things they don't need. If you can't work then you don't need creature comforts.

Not so much ashamed but dissapointed. Some people are more concerned about being entertained (particularly by TV), than learning.

Not everyone who is on some kind of government assistance program is lazy. Due to various circumstances, some people need some kind of help.

Oh yeah, I totally agree. There are people who take advantage of it though. For example, people who are provided money by the goverment for food and then use it to buy booze!

It can't just be this generation's fault. Think about it, who taught them these things

If I think of a thread title like "I Feel So Ashamed of My Generation", do the Under-35s of today ruin everything these days?
