Default Well, for me, goodbye RTV, hello Antenna TV!

My local RTV affiliate, KDCG, began running promos today that beginning August 1st, it will be an Antenna TV channel. I don't know fully the details if it plans to put RTV on another digital subchannel or just drop it altogether. This is the Lafayette, LA metro market (for those of you who keep up with what areas are covered).

I figured something was up a month or so ago, when KDCG unveiled a new logo that stated "KDCG TV Uniquely Acadiana" and dropped the "RTV 22.1" branding it had been using. This station does air several locally produced programs so I won't be getting the full Antenna TV schedule.

Antenna TV is a better channel but it does suck now that they've put on The Real McCoys and Joey Bishop. I wouldn't mind losing mine if it meant I'd get the full Me-TV lineup. It sucks only being able to get a little bit of it.

The same media company in my market owns the stations that air Me-TV, RTV (and soon Ant-tv) and This TV (which I can't get on the broadcast tier due to a stupid legal dispute between Cox and This TV). The NBC station airs Bounce-TV on a sub channel.

Yea, I'm sad that I won't be able to see Real McCoys and Joey Bishop anymore, unless RTV is moving to another sub-channel (which is possible since the main station is 22.1), but there's no guarantee that Cox would pick it up.

I'm sorry, you misunderstood. Antenna TV doesn't air those. RTV just added them a few weeks ago.

Yup. We're going to miss 7am-8am, 12pm-1pm, and 5pm-7pm at least on the weekedays and i believe 12pm-3pm on the weekends. Maybe longer if Delta adds infomercials.

As it is Delta's MeTV on 50 has 2 hrs a day of infomercials during the week and the damn home show 3x/day on the weekends.

I get the full Me-TV schedule on Cox cable. They used to air informercials and that ridiculous real estate listings crap but I think they got a lot of complaints and stopped it. As for KDCG, I guess it's business as usual--we must have never gotten the full RTV schedule. At 5:30 they air the syndicated version of Storm Stories (how does that fit in with a retro lineup is beyond me!)

yea, they are pre-empting a lot less of the Antenna schedule versus the one with RTV. A couple of locally produced shows seem to be gone as well (like The Shawn DeJean Show). Still we are going to miss some of the episodes of a show's cycle since Antenna likes to double run a lot of its shows. But I have been waiting quite awhile to see Antenna TV, so I'll take it like it is. I wonder if KDCG plans to use its other digital sub channels like 22.2

Antenna TV strongest lineup is from 7pm to midnight so it looks like you will be able to watch the good stuff
