Question Sitcoms or Dramas with Cast Members Not Mentioned in the Opening Credits

Cast members that originally weren't mentioned in the opening credits but later were are also eligible.

Green Acres:

Tom Lester
Pat Buttram
Frank Cady
Hank Patterson

etc....

The MTM produced sitcoms usually just had 1 or 2 main stars credited while the rest of the cast was spotlighted in the closing credits with their own photos.

Cool

In the first season of Gilligan's Island Dawn Wells and Russell Johnson weren't mentioned in the opening credits being credited only as "and the rest" !

Roseanne: Glenn Quinn and Johnny Galecki.

Freaks and Geeks: Busy Philipps.

Apparently, in the case of Freaks and Geeks, Busy Philipps' absence from the opening credits was due to contractual obligations. She was supposedly committed to another show on another network that never materialized, and Freaks and Geeks was unable to include her in the opening sequence. According to Judd Apatow, she would have been added to the opening had the show been renewed for a second season.

I'm not sure why Quinn and Galecki were never added to the opening credits of Roseanne.

Andrea Barber as Kimmy Gibbler on Full House. She was a recurring character that was added to the main cast.

I always found it kind of funny that she's missing if you look at from a character point of view. The opening credits are centered around picture day at school and Kim Kelly probably wouldn't show up for that.

Hawaii Five-O (original)
Herman Wedemeyer played quite a few different characters in the 1st 4 seasons before he became Duke Lukela from S5-on. But Duke was a semi-regular until Season 9 when he was finally made a regular cast member and was added to the opening credits.

Mission: Impossible (1966-73)
Martin Landau who played Rollin Hand in the 1st 3 seasons was only credited as a special guest star in the 1st season before he was added to the opening credits in S2 and S3.

HUNTER:
None of Hunter's captains was ever mentioned in the opening credits. Charles Hallahan as Capt. Devane debuted in S3 but like the other captains before him wasn't given opening credits billing. But starting in S4, Hallahan became the only captain to receive opening credits billing.
