Airline Offers Baggage Delivery Service
American Airlines charges $30 to $50 for delivery

Houston - If you leave your baggage, it will come -- if you're flying a certain airline and pay yet another fee. Starting this week, American Airlines travelers can skip the luggage carousel and pay to have their bags delivered to their office, home or another destination. The service can be purchased when booking a trip, or up to two hours before your flight. If the destination for your luggage is 40 miles or less from the airport, American Airlines officials said it should arrive within four hours. The service is available in most of the U.S. cities where the airlines flies. A notable exclusion is Las Vegas. The cost is $29.95 to $49.95, depending on the amount of luggage you want delivered.

I guess that's convenient for some. I would want to get my own luggage though, imo.

I have to admit, that's a pretty nice idea! I can see it being handy for people who have to fly for work and might have to attend a meeting as soon as they land - thus not having time to wait for their stuff at baggage claim (if they checked a bag -- I get the assumption that a lot/most business travelers prefer to carry-on).

I second preferring to have my things with me. I don't trust anyone not to paw through my things.

I think it sounds great. It's good for everyone, but mainly those who have health issues or are older.

I never check luggage. I don't believe airlines should have fees for checking luggage
