I was just talking with a friend and we were wondering about the original airdate for George Owens. Episode guide has it listed has 11/11/92, but that is not correct. We were thinking May 1992 since Lifetime aired it with Scott Johnson, which originally aired on 5/20/92, but that is not the correct date either. Anyone know the original airdate for this segment? thanks.

This one is a mystery. I actually pulled from my old Daily Episode post. Here is the Lifetime episode that contained this segment. It seems to be a collection of segments that were the sole new segment mixed in with repeats. For example, on 4/22/1992, the robbery segment was the only new segment.
Cases include: Robbery: Police responded to a call of a possible robbery at an armored car company in Vallejo, California in 1991. When they arrived they found the bodies of three security guards who had been shot to death. The robbers ironically had gotten away with no money but had left behind an abundance of clues to help determine their identities. Includes update. (Aired: April 22, 1992) Missing Persons: Bill Day, a fireman from Bowie, Maryland married Betty Field in 1976 and they had a son named Christophe in 1980. The marriage later led to divorce and a bitter custody battle ensued. In 1984, Betty disappeared with Christophe and Bill has been searching for them ever since. Includes update. (Aired: May 13, 1992) Unexplained Death: The bodies of 7-year old Scott Johnson and one his friends were found in an abandoned blazing shack, a powder magazine, located in Bullhead City, Arizona in 1974. Authorities ruled their deaths an accident but eyewitnesses reported seeing two burly men near the shack during the fire. (Aired: May 20, 1992) Missing Persons: The search for George Owens, an elderly minister originally from Nashville, Tennessee who vanished in 1985. His car was later found abandoned in a remote area more than 100 miles from his home. Witnesses claim to have encountered Owens the day of his disappearance, who had been acting confused and disoriented. (Aired: ?) Special Alert: Art Jones vanished from his Pennsylvania home. His home had been leveled by an early morning explosion in September 1991 and Jones has not been seen since. Includes update. (Aired: November 6, 1991) |

The more I look into this, the more it looks like this segment originally aired in the summer of 1992. Perhaps, August 12, 1992 or August 19, 1992.
According to the Copyright Office, new material was presented on those two episodes. I believe the Lost Love segment with Delia Fazzani Goldie aired on August 12, 1992. George Owens may have aired on August 19th. Does anyone have these two particular episodes who can confirm this? |

I'm pretty sure it aired on 4/14/93. I have about half that episode recorded (minus the Captain Charles Shelton segment) and the Owens segment is a part of that episode.
I can't confirm this is the first time it aired, but I would deduce it may have been. It was the only "new" story shown that night. |

After all these years, I finally found the airdate. It was August 19, 1992. I found some old newspaper listings for that date and it described "Tennessee pastor’s disappearance" along with repeat segments.
Now to do some more research for the 1993-1995 time period! |
