Default This episode should not be on the season 3 DVD

"Almost American"

This episode was the setup for a potential spinoff that was never picked up. You see Arnold and Mr. Drummond are seen until 6:20 and then no DS character is not seen until

the 22:48 Mark when Arnold comes home excited because he got a good grade on his history test.

The transition to the other characters was so confusing. One minute we see Arnold and Mr. Drummond in the Penthouse and the next minute we are watching a bunch of people we don't know sitting in a classroom for almost 15 mins-LOL

You're such a drama queen! It wouldn't a complete third season without it! Don't watch the episode if you don't want to see it! You have a remote control don't you? Or are you still living in 1975 like with your other technology?

I didn't watch it after the 6 min mark. I just remember being so confused years ago when I watched this episode in local syndication. I was saying..."where the hell is Mr. Drummond, Arnold, Willis and Kimberly?

But it would not be a complete set if it was excluded. Then people will be curious to wanna see this episode. I would and I know that you would as well, Solomon.

What's funny is it looks like the beginning of a great episode because Mr. D tells Arnold he can't go to the hockey game because he got a D on his history test.

And from there......................................

I actually thought it wasn't that bad. Granted if it became a series it probably wouldn't be one that I would go out of my way to see, but it certainly wasn't the worst backdoor pilot I saw.

I recently finished watching Season 3 on DVD and I've never seen this episode before.

I know what you mean about forgetting it's a "Diff'rent Strokes" episode. I figured it was meant for a spin-off that never happened. I wasn't that into it.

It was great seeing Ernie Hudson trying to play an immigrant from Nigeria.

The episode had a funny beginning and it seemed like arnold was on his way to a hockey game but it ended after Mr. Drummond found out he got a D on his History Test LOL

Instead of watching this, there is a wonderful episode on the Season 4 Three's Company DVD called "Ralph's Rival" that you could watch. It is great from beginning to end.
