Default Some restaurant chains that left your area that you miss

Damon's grill and sports bar www.damons.com The food was awesome! Great ribs and chicken.

Churches chicken. They left here in the mid 80s, but I still remember how they taste.

Church's chicken had some good chicken. Their chicken kinda tastes like Popeye's. I like Popeye's chicken. I miss Shakey's restaurant. There was one in the Alexandria, Virginia area in the late 80's. Their all you can eat buffet was very good. They had macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, lasagne, spaghetti, pizza, tacos. I definitely miss that place.

I miss Brown's Chicken -- like their old ad said, "it tastes better!"

I do like Popeye's though as well. I've developed cravings for their spicy!

For almost a decade, we had an Outback right down the street from my home, but they closed it. Outback's are still in Massachusetts, just not so handy for me. I miss it. Sometimes we'd go for just appetizers and desserts. Coconut shrimp, potato skins, some liked the Bloomin' Onion but too greasy for me. Their apple/cinnamon/vanilla ice cream dessert was out of this world.

I actually had a pretty good thing going. I had a Subway, D'Angelos, Blimpie and Quiznos all right near me. Now, Blimpie and Quiznos is gone. Quiznos had excellent food but near me anymore. There still in Conneticut but still.

I wish Fuddruckers and Whataburger were still around, both had awesome burgers, especially Fuddruckers. I used to love Rax Roast Beef restaurants, but they went defunct back in the early eightys, although someone told me a few years ago that one still existed up North some where. I like Bojangles chicken but they are no longer in my area, they also had some really good sausage bisquits as well. I really miss Pizza Inn, i thought they had the best pizza around.

I miss the Taco Bell that was near me. They are around but not in walking distance to where I live.

I haven't had Taco Bell in over a decade.

Red Hot and Blue BBQ. They have the best potato salad ever. Ours closed a couple of years ago and the next closest one is about 40 miles away.

Sonic. They've left Fort Wayne TWICE now. Both times they were doing great business so who knows why they closed.

I wish there was a Godfathers Pizza around here. I haven't had any since the mid 80's in NC. That was always my favorite pizza.

I love Godfathers pizza. I practically lived on it when I was a teenager. It was always pizza at godfathers and a movie. Luckily there is still one left in my area. But 2 also left. I miss Whataburger and Popeye’s from when I briefly lived in Arizona. And from here A&W and Dunkin Donuts if that counts oh also Skippers fish and chips.

I think the closest Godfathers to me is about 2 hours away. I used to call up the local radio station sports show and answer trivia questions because they gave away free pizza's from Godfathers. Good times.

Yea I wish my town had a Dunkin Donuts. There's one over in the next town but I don't get over there much.

I miss Church's Chicken too, especially the wings and that crazy pepper. There was another chain that left my area when I was a kid in the early 80's called Gino's. They served the best burgers. I still remember the taste now and decades have past.

Sometimes high taxes in a certain town could do places in. There was this Popeye's restaurant so close to me did excellent business! One day it closed without warning. Come to find out the suburb it was located had the highest town taxes and the owner closed it. That sucked. I have to go to a further and smaller location now for Popeyes.
