Default As of right now, 7/20/12, should TV fans continue to buy......

Individual seasons on DVD? I will have to say NO because after seeing what Shout has done with All in the Family it's just so frustrating. Shout has released a AITF set with bonus features which is a slap in the face to fans who purchased all the individual seasons.

So why would anyone go out and buy a individual season in 2012???

I;m done. This past wednesday was my last purchase for a individual season

You're better off waiting until all the seasons come out.

It's pretty annoying. Shout did that with Barney Miller too except you can't buy the other seasons individually. I want to go buy the Entourage DVD sets but I know as soon as I do HBO will put out a complete series set.

You can of 1-3 (which I already own) but not 4-9 or the one season of Fish on the complete series set.

Similar to Mill Creek releasing "Grounded For Life" seasons 1-2 which I recently bought. Now I see they are releasing seasons 3-5 as part of a series set. I am not big on discs with "special features", but I do think it is an insult to those who supported their earlier releases to either not release each season individually or add new material to complete series sets. I hope seasons 3-5 are available individually so I don't have to buy seasons 1 and 2 twice.

I always buy mine as individual seasons because it's easier for me to fork up 10-30 dollars at a time for one season and buy them as I can afford them opposed to saving up 100 or whatever it costs for a complete series set. I also don't mind buying shows that are incomplete just because I'd rather have something instead of nothing, especially if the show isn't on airing on any network.

Many times, I'm just so ecstatic a show I've longed for has finally rolled out, that I buy the season on the spot. I know many times it would have been more economical to wait - but I just couldn't for some shows like Barney Miller, Room 222 or the Paper Chase.

Now since I have made this decision I expect to see the releases below

Jeffersons season 7

Welcome Back Kotter season 2

Different Strokes season 4

I bet one of those get released before July 2013

I'm reaching a point where I'm not even sure about holding onto my TV on DVD collection, or at least most of it for the most part. I mean, sure, I'll keep shows that I can't see on television, but some of my favorites such as Friends, 'Raymond,' and Two and a Half Men can be seen on TV 80,000 times a day. I recently sold anything I haven't really watched all that much on eBay, and I plan on implementing a new policy: if I haven't watched it in a year, I'm selling it. I think we'd all be better off for it. As far as special features go, I guess this situation never bothers me since I know some jerk will illegally upload them to YouTube for my access within days or weeks, and I don't feel bad for watching them that way. If Shout or any other company cared that much, they should have the clips removed. Otherwise, if I didn't upload it, I'm not going to prevent myself from watching it.

That's how I feel about Sanford and Son. I have no plans of ever watching the show again on DVD because it's seen on multiple channels and I have actually become sick of the show. I watched the DVD initially because of the "unseen footage" but now that I have seen it I have no more interest. And I doubt if anyone is interested in buying a show they can get from Amazon so I may just throw the DVD in the garbage
