Ann Curry Returns to "Today": Anchor-At-Large To Report Live From Aurora, Colorado
The Huffington Post | By Rebecca Shapiro 7/20/12 Ann Curry will return to NBC's air and the "Today" show on Friday, reporting live from Aurora, Colorado. She will cover the latest events out of the Denver suburb, in wake of the tragic mass-shooting that took place at a movie theater during a midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises. Curry will anchor a special edition of "Dateline" on Friday at 9:00 p.m., and co-host the network's weekend editions of "Today" on Saturday and Sunday with Savannah Guthrie. The network also expects Curry to report on Friday evening's "Nightly News". http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...n_1690088.html |

Maybe they'll realize that they made a mistake in letting her go before. I'm sure she'll do a great job on the coverage.

I think she should have moved on to another network. No point in her looking foolish on the air after being yanked from the Today Show

It was smart of NBC to realize she's the best person for this assignment. She'll do a great job! It will probably make them regret their decision to fire her from Today!

Okay Ann Curry was on the Today Show this Morning, But she did not Co Anchor The Today Show like NBC billed her. Instead Jenny Wolfe Anchor Today show from New York and Shared Hosting duties with Savannah who Anchored The Show on Location live from Colorado. Lester was on assignment. This Morning Ann was called a Corresponden and reported for the show but did not act as Co-anchor like Nbc said on Friday. Ann and Savannah also did not appear on camera together one this Morning.
Also the truth is Ann was not right for the Today Show Co-anchor Role in the first place. I like Ann but she was too serious For The Today Show Anchor Chair., and she more of a Hard News person. She also struggled with lighter softer side of the show. Savannah is a better fit for The Today Show Anchor position. she also is not serious all the time and she can handle the lighter segments and interviews. Ann will do good where she is now and truthfully the new role is a better position for her as is fit her serious hard News reporting persona better then doing cooking segment and latest trends on Today Show. Savannah is Doing a Good Job. And Ann is in a better place as a more Serious news reporter doing hard News and reporting in the field on location and covering tragedies, Disaster areas; humanantarian crises etc. NBC made the right decision but I will agree that Am could have been treated better and the situation could have been handled better. |
