Default Do you grab your phone and go online before getting out of bed in the morning?

There is a story in the latest issue of Newsweek about how the internet is making us crazy and how so many are addicted to their phones and the internet.

I have to say before I get out of bed in the morning I do grab my phone and check my email and text messages Anyone else?

I thought I was the only one

I do the samething. But i'm not addicted to it. I just do it because that's what i want to do lol

I also do a lot of other things. I accomplised cleaning my grandpas entire shop today. I cooked tacos for dinner. and i passed my first science exam Plus dealing with a really messed up situation But I have faith that God will fix it.

Yeah, I do the same thing in the morning only I go on Facebook to check out my friends updates. And it is safe to say that I'm definitely addicted to my phone.

not me man, I am hating cell phones more and more with each passing day.

- of course I am now actively trying to be a grumpy old fart so that I am well ahead of the curve before I actually get there.

No - my phone is a "victrola" - a first generation cell - no pix - you can just make/receive cell calls only. BUT I do hop onto my iPad first thing - and guess where......

I totally get where you're coming from. For some it's this great big toy that they MUST ALWAYS be on. Not talking about at home but outside...walking in the middle of the street..on a bus non-stop...on a public can..oblivious to all...BLAB BLAB BLAB YAK YAK YAK like its friggin oxygen or something.

That being said though, a cell is convenienent for my work. Using more than 90 min a month is rare for me. May upgrade to a phone with a camera. Being able to take pictures could come in handy for a crime, fantastic photo etc.

Although I am guilty of being on my tablet a lot at HOME I never ever carry it anywhere. When I'm outside; I like being alert to my surroundings. Also these small devices are easy to steal IMO.

Oh it's awful around here. I see people talking on their cellphones when they're driving, when they're walking and my personal favorite, in the stores blocking the aisles. I even saw one lady carrying out her groceries but she still was talking on the cellphone. That takes a lot of talent. lol

I do check my phone in the morning. I don't necessarily go online right away, just check for texts.

I'm not actually addicted to my phone. I'm addicted to having it with me either in my pocket or in my purse, but I don't like to have it out and using it all the time. I honestly get bored with my phone after about five minutes.

In my house my phone is the alarm clock. It seems pointless to buy actual clocks when my fiance and I are walking around with phones in our pockets and computers around. So the alarm goes off of a morning and I grab my phone to turn it off and spend five minutes scrolling through facebook to wake myself up before I get up and take the dog out and my fiance does the same on facebook before he begins to get ready for work

Thumbs down

No. I couldn't get onto my cell phone's web browser if my life depended on it. If I try to type in a URL, once I go past two characters, it conks out.... three characters on days that it decides to be generous.

Besides that, I mostly use my cell phone for phone calls anyway. That, and a pocket watch, and believe it or not, occasionally an alarm clock.
